Garfield says his image with Maguire in Spider-Man 3 “is Photoshop”

The Spider-Man Multiverse

It seems unbelievable but at this point in the year (there are only 3 months left for its premiere) we still have no official confirmation about the appearance of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man: No Way Home. And it is that, as you well know, for quite some time there has been rumor about the possibility that the old Spider-Man (read Maguire and Garfield) appear in the third installment of Spider-Man, something that would happen thanks to the introduction of the multiverse concept.

Marvel Studios has never confirmed this possibility and in the official trailer of the film does not appear nor is it hinted that they will (yes, ancient villains such as Dr. Octopus), however, people continue to believe that it is nothing more than a strategy of the firm to surprise us all in theaters.

What do they hold onto for it? Well, in the special effort that both Garfield and Maguire (including Tom Holland) have put into denying their participation (sometimes with somewhat suspicious comments) as well as in the filtration of an image in which the two actors were seen on the set of the film and that Sony was in charge of erasing from the face of the internet.

Now it is Garfield himself who talks about that photo, ensuring that it is nothing more than a good photoshop.

Everything is a fake

It has been in an online interview, granted to the famous program The Tonight Show of Jimmy Fallon, where the actor has assured that will not be in spider-man 3 and that the photo that circulated on the forums is nothing more than a fake:

I’ve heard of it. And i saw her [la foto]. It’s a PhotoShop… I’m trying to manage expectations.

The most striking of all is that at the beginning of the talk, Garfield says he does not know anything about the existence of said photo and only after the insistence of the presenter, recognize having seen it -as you have read about these lines-, pointing out that it is false.

The actor continued to deny his participation in the long-awaited Sony and Marvel film:

I understand why people are freaking out about the concept [de los tres actores juntos] because I am also a fan. You can’t help but imagine scenes and moments of “Oh my gosh, how fucking cool would it be if they did that? […] But it is important for me to officially say that it is something I am not involved in. But I know that I won’t be able to say anything to convince anyone that I don’t know what’s “going on.”

These statements however are not consistent with the fact that Sony worry so much about erasing the supposed leak or that Garfield is now on the cover of some magazines or giving interviews on prime-time shows in the US. Is he already undercover promotion or should we believe him?
