Google begins to integrate Bard into Workspace, which is ready to use

Bard is the answer of Google at the moment artificial intelligence is living mainly through ChatGPT. The tool developed by the search engine giant has started coming to Workspace accounts, its business-oriented set of collaborative applications and tools. This comes shortly after ChatGPT made its way to Google Workspace itself, via a third-party service, late last month.

Google has announced via the Bard changelog that the AI tool can be enabled by Workspace administrators to “allow their users to sign in to Bard using their Workspace accounts.” The reason given by the corporation is the following: “now you can use Bard to help with work, research or other business needs, when you sign in to your Google Workspace account enabled for administrators”.

Now, as we can read on the official Google Workspace blog, the deployment of this function does not run parallel to that of the chatbot itself. In other words, the possibility of activating this integration will already be available in the administration of all Workspace spaces, only those users of the same that are in the regions in which Bard is already available, the United States and the United Kingdom, will be able to enjoy this integration.

The inclusion of Bard in Workspace was anticipated days by Google through its official blog, where it published through an entry saying that, “in the next few days, Google Workspace administrators will be able to activate access to Bard for their users in the Admin console, under Apps > Additional Google services > Early access apps”. This means that Bard, while coming to Google Workspace, is not a stable phase featureso its use in production is not recommended or at least should be treated with great care.

Bard in Google Workspace

The search engine giant explains in the same entry published on the official blog that Bard is “an experiment in the initial phase of Google that allows collaboration with generative artificial intelligence. As a creative and helpful collaborator, Bard can fuel his imagination, increase his productivity, and help him bring his ideas to life.” So far nothing that we have not been told before about the alleged benefits of artificial intelligence when it comes to improving productivity when it comes to working with computer software.

Google is willing to promote Bard to bring it to its products and services, because in addition to Workspace, we are aware that it also wants to introduce it to Pixel mobiles in a widget format. However, Within the company there are voices that have criticized the tool for being, according to their version, much inferior to the competitionAdding to the feeling within the Mountain View giant of being behind the times in the industry and accusations of training Bard on ChatGPT responses. At this point we cannot forget the abandonment of Geoffry Hinton, the “godfather” of artificial intelligence, who decided to leave Google with the aim of warning about the dangers that a technology whose potential is still being discovered can bring.

Long story short, Bard has already been integrated into Google Workspace, but for now it’s an early access feature and you have to manually enable it to make use of it.
