Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PC and Death Stranding 2 could be a PS5 exclusive

A leaked document that belongs, in theory, to Sony has allowed us to “confirm” what was an open secret, that Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PC at some point. It is not a surprise, we already know that the Japanese company has totally changed its strategy when it comes to its PS5 exclusives, and that many of these have already begun to reach compatibility.

Horizon Zero Dawn was precisely one of the first PS4 exclusives to come to PC, so it’s not surprising that Horizon Forbidden West will suffer the same fate. As I told you at the time, this change in strategy by Sony is an attempt to maximize the return on investment represented by PlayStation exclusives. These games will remain a temporary exclusive for Sony consoles, but will eventually come to PC.

There is no specific period of exclusivity established for these games, or at least it has not been confirmed publicly, but it is normal for it to last between 6 months and 1 year depending on the importance of each game. With this in mind, given that Horizon Forbidden West hit PS4 and PS5 last February, it may be coming to PC later this year or early next year.

The leaked document also contains a reference to the PC version of Sackboy, which has recently been officially announced, and we know that at the moment the games Rise of the Ronin and Death Stranding 2 have been listed as exclusive to PS5. I’m not sure what will happen with the first one, but we can be sure that Death Stranding 2 will also end up coming to PC, and that as happened with the first installment, it will come loaded with technologies exclusive to that platform (NVIDIA DLSS, Intel XeSS, AMD FSR and ray tracing).

At the moment we still have no news of other PlayStation exclusives that continue to be an object of desire for PC gamers, such as the expected Bloodborne and The Last of Us Part I. About the first we know, thanks to reliable sources, that Japan Studio got his hands on a functional build for PC before its closure, but it ended “in limbo”, and in the end it is Sony that has the last word.

Regarding The Last of Us Part I, Sony itself confirmed that will have a PC version, but did not give a specific release date, so right now we can only wait. All in all, I think that the Christmas season would be a very appropriate date to put it on the market.
