Intel launches its Arc Pro GPUs, for workstations and professional applications

Intel has announced a family of GPUs designed for workstations and professional applications. It’s about the Arc Pro range, made up of three models: Intel Arc Pro A40, Intel Arc Pro A50 and Intel Arc Pro A30M. The first two are created for integration into workstations, while the third will be for professional laptops.

All are capable of hardware-based ray tracing, as well as offering AV1 hardware acceleration. In its development, it has been thought that they can be used for Artificial Intelligence tasks. Also with those related to the multimedia world and that require computing and graphics power that are carried out with applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro. That is, with the usual software tools for creators of visual content.

The Intel Arc Pro A40 GPU It will be available in a single-slot form factor. It will have 3.5 teraflops of graphics power, eight ray tracing cores, and 6GB of GDDR6 memory. With this GPU, Intel wants to offer cards with remarkable graphics power to small form factor PCs.

Refering to Intel Arc Pro A50It features a dual-slot form factor, 4.8 teraflops of graphics power, eight ray tracing cores, and 6GB of GDDR6 memory. Due to its dimensions and format, it has been developed with its incorporation into more conventional workstations in mind, although it can also be used in small-format equipment.

Both GPUs offer four Mini DisplayPort connectors, allowing teams running them to have a variety of monitor connection configurations. They are compatible with two 8K monitors at 60Hz, one 5K at 240Hz, two 5G at 120Hz or four 4K at 60Hz. They are developed for professionals, but not for gaming, since their design has prioritized the use of apps such as Blender or the mentioned Premiere Pro. In addition, Intel wants these GPUs to be certified for apps in the engineering, construction, architecture, and manufacturing sectors.

The third of Intel’s new GPUs, the Arc Pro A30M, reaches 3.5 teraflops of graphics performance and has eight ray tracing cores and 4GB of GDDR6 memory. It is designed to be used with a peak power of between 35 and 50 watts, and its output screens will depend on the configurations of the laptops that integrate it. All three GPUs will be available to desktop and notebook manufacturers before the end of this year.
