Is it possible to keep the PC cool without fans? This box says yes

The PC cooling, especially in summer, it is always a complicated aspect because it forces us to find a good combination of heatsink, fans and case that allows the components to function at an adequate temperature. Sure, the more fans and faster they have to run, the more noise is generated but would it be possible to keep the PC without using fans? We have already seen in the past some alternatives of passive box no fans that made it, but could only work with low-power hardware… until now.

And it is that the manufacturer Streacom, famous for its passive boxes that manage to keep the temperature of the PC at bay without using fans, has just presented its new SG10 box, completely passive and which they boast of being capable of dissipating up to 600W of heat from passively, something that would allow us to use high-end hardware instead of having to settle for a low-power PC.

This fanless PC case dissipates 600W of heat

For now, the manufacturer has simply announced that during Computex 2023, which will take place at the end of this month, it will present its new completely passive SG10 box, which, as we have already mentioned, is capable of dissipating up to 600W of heat without need to use fans.

Calyos NSG S0

Be careful, the image that we have posted above is not of the new Streacom SG10 box, but rather of the Calyos NSG S0, a passive box launched in 2017 and on which, in theory, the new SG10 has been based. And we didn’t post a picture of this case for nothing, as the SG10 is the result of an agreement between Streacom and Calyos to join forces and release what could surely be the ultimate passive PC case.

From what it seems, the new box will have a huge passive heatsink that will occupy the entire upper part of the box, and which, according to the manufacturer, would be capable of dissipating up to 195W of heat from the processor and up to 420W of heat generated by the graphics card. , adding just over 600W of thermal dissipation capacity. This means that we could have a PC equipped with, for example, an Intel Core i9-12900K and an RTX 4090 without the need for fans, although in this case we would be pushing the capacity of the box to the limit and it would be advisable to choose slightly less demanding components. .

To achieve this incredible feat, the case uses a dielectric fluid on the inside that works much like vapor chamber coolers do, with the heat pipes factory-sealed so we never have to worry about maintenance, and Unlike all-in-one liquid coolers, there would be no evaporation of the liquid since the internal circuit would be completely sealed.

What does this mean? That the box would already come with the CPU and GPU blocks prepared to install our hardware, and this would imply that we would have to completely disassemble the graphics card heatsink.

By the way, we have already told you that they will present it at this year’s Computex that will take place at the end of the month, but they have not said anything about the date of availability or the price; However, taking into account that it is a passive PC case, without fans and that it already comes with a “heatsink” for the processor and for the graphics card, it is quite likely that it has a very, very high price (and we are talking about a price range that will easily go above €400). We’ll see what happens when it is definitively presented.
