Cegid officially closes the purchase of the Primavera Group
Barely a month ago the first news emerged about the purchase agreement reached between Cegid Meta4 and the Primavera Group, which would pass into the hands of the former. And the acquisition has already been closed and definitively signed. In this way, Grupo Primavera, developer of a business management software platform for the Iberian Peninsula, will be known as Grupo Primavera, a Cegid Company.
With this operation, Cegid accelerates its international development. The new entity born from it will have more than 1,300 employees, 700 partners and a proforma turnover in the Iberian Peninsula that in 2022 will reach 150 million euros according to forecasts.
A new optical storage technology can reduce the cost per terabyte to $5
The firm Folio Photonics has announced a new storage method that uses optical drives (disks) that has great potential, since in theory it would allow the creation of higher capacity hard drives at a much lower cost than current models.
According to the company, we are talking about a cost reduction so important that it would be possible to lower the price per terabyte (TB) to only 5 dollars, and in the future it could be reduced to one dollar. For comparison purposes, the current cost per terabyte is $25, five times more.
