Microsoft sets date for the end of own domains in Outlook

It has been, as it almost always is, through an email statement to its paying subscribers: “As of November 30, 2023, you will no longer be able to associate a new personalized email address (for example, yourname@example. com) with your Outlook.com mailbox.” So the countdown has already started for users with subscriptions to Microsoft 365 Family either Microsoft 365 Personal.

For a few years now, users have been able to create a custom domain for their email. Or what is the same, instead of an email type outlook.com, premium customers can register by putting their company name, for instance. An option that will disappear next year.

Will not affect existing accounts

Yes, this measure will not affect existing accounts or that are created before the term indicated by the company expires. So those who want, companies included, can continue doing it as many times as they want -and pay- until mid-autumn 2023. It must also be taken into account that those users who decide to delete their personalized email address will not be able to change their decision later.

And it is that, if a person cancels the subscription to Microsoft 365 Family either Microsoft 365 Personal, you can no longer send or receive email with Outlook.com using your personalized email address. However, it does not lose any existing email.
