Movies and series to watch on Halloween for free and legally

Halloween is literally just around the corner and since all the media are recommending games, series, movies and others, we are going to do the same, but with a twist, so that it is not the typical article that you have already read for there. In fact, we are going to do the opposite: instead of recommending content that you can find on Netflix, Prime Video and company… in which case, the best thing you can do is take a look at the VOD News that we publish this Saturday, because the bulk of the content is interesting and fits the date…

The headline says it all, doesn’t it? And if you think that by including free content that you can consume legally, it won’t even reach the sole of the shoe for those you have on Netflix, Prime Video and company… You’re partly right, of course. With nuances, and it is that if it turns out that it catches you without a penny in your pocket, you are not one to pirate either, or you simply want to enter less traveled land, although not for that with less tradition… the same interests you, or you like what we bring next.

This article also serves to remind us of four sites where you will find free movies and series that are worth having on hand… because they don’t cost anything!

Warning: the quality of the trailers, when there are any, some in English, leaves something to be desired, but the movies look good and they are all in Spanish.

It’s been almost three years since Plex announced streaming free of movies and series and since then it has greatly improved its catalog, also improving the model with live television. The offer in Spanish is still scarce, but there is a bit of everything and it is continually renewed. You need a Plex account to use it.

If you are a fan of the genre you will have seen it a thousand times, but you won’t have any problems watching it once again. We talk about living graveyard, the adaptation of Stephen King’s novel whose translation of the title is not accurate, but more faithful to the meaning of the work. If you haven’t seen it, you’re already late. On Plex you have the original and the forgettable sequel… but since it’s free:

Pandemic, did you say? Cabin Fever It will give you a different perspective, more macabre and carrion. The movie is nothing to write home about, nor has many been left as a classic of some level, things as they are, but to pass the time it is useful and even more so if it is about covering a gap with material suitable for these dates.

The same can be said of Cabin Fever can also be said of The eyes of evil (See No Evil)… and even more, because objectively it may not be worse, but it is less original. After all, both are similar in the group of young protagonists, the brushstrokes of gore… but this one moves in key slasher requetesobada

Runtime is a platform that recently arrived in Spain and in which there is a bit of everything, from live television to series and movies and everything is free (with ads, of course). In addition, you do not need to register to enjoy its contents.

One of the movies you can watch on Runtime this Halloween is [rec], a true contemporary classic of Spanish horror cinema that, again, you have most likely seen, but that, once again, is one of those that is left to be seen again from time to time. Zombies no less! Oh, and not only do you have the original movie, there is also the sequel:

Another Spanish movie that you can see in Runtime is Romasanta, hunting the beastfrom the same director of [rec]. An adaptation based on the true story of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, known in 19th century Galicia as “El Hombre Lobo de Allariz”. A terrifying village tale turned into legend.

The night of the Living Dead is, in effect, the first feature film by George A. Romero and the first movie about the living dead, or rather, about zombies, as we know them now… And, yes, you can find it in many other places, for example in Youtube. But if you want to see it in Spanish and with a minimum of quality…

A content platform for streamingboth on demand and live, free and well established is Pluto TV, where they are also celebrating Halloween these days and from which we highlight three other films, more classic in this case.

Starring the recently deceased Angela Lansbury (It has written a crime), in the company of wolves is a delightful fantasy horror tale that also includes werewolves, but the ones with real hair on their chests. A reinterpretation of the classic little Red Riding Hood more twisted than it appears at first glance, by the director of interview with the vampire.

Much further back in time is another classic of the horror genre, from series B and with strong overtones of comedy to be exact, such as little shop of horrors. Their remakestarring in the mid-1980s by Rick Moranis (The Ghostbusters) is better remembered, but this original raid is as good or better, even with less media.

Same exercise, different abode: you have to go back a long way, but much further back in time to find Nosferatu, the undead. The first representation of the vampire that occurred in the seventh art and that, as we pointed out with The night of the Living Deadcan be found in many places because it is in the public domain (this year it has celebrated its first centenary since its premiere) at a very poor quality… But on Pluto TV you will see it in luxury.

And now, a series that you can watch on the revamped RTVE Play, where everything you’ll find is free, although rubbish abounds… with occasional exceptions, including a large part of RTVE’s historical archive, such as…

Movies and series to watch on Halloween for free and legally

It was a must mention, also coinciding with the launch on Amazon Prime Video this week of the second season of the reboot of the national horror classic created by Chicho Ibáñez Serrador. And don’t be fooled: no matter how old the series is, it’s good, much better, in fact, than the new one, even though all the time that has passed between one – of which 30 chapters were published over two decades, eye- noticeable in certain aspects.

To all this, we had said series and it has remained in one, but in the same RTVE Play you have others to see: stories from the other side, chronicles of evil, returnees… Likewise, on the rest of the platforms you will find many other horror movies that you may like more. The only thing you have to take into consideration is that free content has its drawbacks, such as the fact that they put ads in you – although they do not usually abuse as in traditional TV -, that many contents are not in high definition… Happy Halloween!
