Netflix is taking on a controversial American music personality. With jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, the platform will follow the career of the American rapper, from his beginnings to his rise in the upper echelons of the industry.
Netflix is about to unveil a documentary on Kanye West. A work dedicated to the American rapper and producer, which was unveiled to the public at the 2022 edition of Sundance. baptized jeen-yuhs: A Kanye West Trilogy, the series is an intimate experience alongside the artist, from his debut at 21 in Chicago to his meteoric rise in music. It is directed by Clarence “Coodie Simmons” and Chike Ozah. The two filmmakers have a common past with the artist, since they had directed “Through the Wire”a music video that told the consequences of an accident that the singer had in 2002. The title had reached the 15th position of the Billboard ranking.
The synopsis describes what viewers will be able to discover over the course of the episodes. “21 years ago, Clarence Coodie Simmons met Kanye West and saw something so special that he moved from Chicago to New York to document Ye’s journey to becoming the next great rapper. None of them had any idea where this journey would take them.”
This new series should contain exclusive images, captured in the privacy of the one who now calls himself Ye. A story that is not really to the taste of the rapper, who did not give his authorization for the broadcast. This obviously did not discourage Netflix, which has just announced a release date.
February 16 on Netflix
The platform announces that the first episodes will be broadcast on next February 16. Unlike the majority of content available on Netflix, subscribers will not be able to discover the entire series on the day of its release. The event was thought to span three weeks, with an episode every Wednesday.
