The cybersecurity company has announced the launch of its new portfolio of consumer solutions, available by subscription. This new product line brings an improved interface and user experience across multiple platforms. It also introduces a variety of features that cover every category of consumer protection today: security, privacy, performance and identity.
Kaspersky detection systems discovered an average of 400,000 new malicious files per day in 2021, reflecting growth of 20,000 files per day compared to the previous year. In addition, new types of threats keep emerging: from advanced crooks who target platform accounts most popular online gaming or crypto wallets, to stalkerware, which allows an attacker to secretly spy on another person’s private life through a mobile device. In this context, it is important that users have answers to all possible scenarios so that they can continue living their digital life with confidence, whether it is “farming gold” in their favorite MMORPG game, giving children their first tablet, organizing a video call familiar or just trying new things, like building a smart home or taking a tour of the “metaverse.”
Kaspersky’s new offerings: from standard to premium
The new simplified product line has been divided into: Kaspersky Standard, Kaspersky Plus and Kaspersky Premium. This new range is now open on multiple platforms and each of them offers protection for different types of devices on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. All of them are designed to reflect the level of functionality available to users across the ecosystem of the company’s consumer services.
- Kaspersky Standard. Consumers who choose Kaspersky Standard will receive security features such as real-time protection against the latest digital threats and Safe Browsing & Anti-Phishing to defend against dangerous websites, downloads and extensions. The Standard plan also offers users a Pre-Kaspersky virus removal tool that can find and remove any viruses that might exist on users’ PCs before installing Kaspersky. In addition, the plan includes a firewall and a network monitor that shows which applications are connected to the Internet.
- There is also a whole set of performance tools, such as fast startup, PC speedup and disk space cleanup. Game and Do Not Disturb modes – automatically activated during gaming, work or streaming movies on a PC – ensure an uninterrupted experience and minimize the use of system resources, allowing reassignment to priority tasks. Stalkerware detection and webcam and microphone protection are some of the privacy features available to subscribers of this plan.
- KasperskyPlus. Privacy features are even greater in Kaspersky Plus. Users subscribed to this plan get access to everything available in Kaspersky Standard, plus unlimited VPN and Premium Password Manager. They also get Data Leak Checker, which monitors the Internet and the Dark Web, warning users if their private data has been compromised and providing recommendations on what to do next. Additionally, the plan includes Password Safety Status, which can improve password protection by checking your password security status and susceptibility to breaches. With the Kaspersky Plus plan, users can also see which devices are connected to the home network, an especially useful feature for owners of smart home technology.
- Kaspersky Premium. The most extensive subscription plan in features, Kaspersky Premium, adds to all the above capabilities digital identity protection and premium technical support, with priority access to phone calls or chat services, remote installation help from experts and personal checks of the PC status. To provide comprehensive identity defense, users have access to the Identity Protection Wallet, which stores copies of sensitive data (such as passport or driver’s license) in an encrypted format to prevent identity theft and enables securely access your data across all your devices. In addition, all Kaspersky Premium customers will get a free one-year subscription to Kaspersky Safe Kids, which is an added value for those who have children.
In the future, Kaspersky plans to further develop its ecosystem and expand its list of integrations, thereby offering more value and services to its users.
UX and subscription improvements
New features also include a more intuitive interface and experience. Kaspersky has completely redesigned its solutions with the goal of improving customer interaction within the application and making it easier in key areas: prevention (all dangerous threats are automatically blocked and users are notified), monitoring (all dangerous threats are automatically informs users about potential threats or actions that can cause harm and they have the opportunity to choose settings or actions to not interrupt their digital experience) and education (users can read about features and threats in special blocks if they want to know more).
Quick action buttons provide immediate access to the most popular features. Security news and notifications are located in the “Home” tab, while all the main information about the user’s subscription (status, renewal date, number of devices, etc.) is available in the section “Profile”.
