Nfortec Caelum Black, an efficient, attractive and economical PC tower

Nfortec Caelum Black is the new computer case from this Spanish manufacturer that is committed to offering ‘more for less’ in its entire product catalogue. The PC tower that we have had the opportunity to analyze is a good example: well designed and finished, efficient, attractive and with a very contained price within the reach of any budget.

Like the foundation of a house, the chassis is the basis for building a good desktop PC. It must be made of quality materials; be large enough to install any type of component; support future updates; allow the assembly of cooling systems that keep temperatures at bay and with correct cable management that also provides improvements to the ventilation of the PC, helping to avoid errors and malfunctions.

Of course, if the tower is visually attractive, all the better, because many users want to “show off” it and place it on top of the desktop. In the aesthetic section, the RGB lighting systems or the use of tempered glass on the sides that allow you to see the interior stand out. Price is another important factor. There are tremendous, huge and very expensive towers, which not all users need. Virtue is in balance and we already anticipate that the model in question does its job very well.

Nfortec Caelum Black, specifications

The new Nfortec tower allows mounting configurations in the three most used formats in consumer PCs: ATX, MicroATX and ITX. With a size of 395 x 200 x 430 mm, it is large enough, but without going overboard, avoiding becoming too large a hulk, complex to handle and to place on the desktop if you decide to do so.

The chassis is made of steel, thick enough to make it resistant, safe and stable, but without penalizing its weight of just over 3 kilograms (without components). The overall design follows the lines of modern towers with dedicated space for the power supply at the bottom for easy mounting, cable routing and general cooling. It has a group of bays to install hard drives or SATA solid state drives, in 3.5 or 2.5-inch formats.

It has space to equip up to 6 120mm fans, including liquid cooling systems if you need it, such as Nfortec’s own model, the Hydrus RGB 120, although others from any manufacturer can be installed. Nfortec delivers three RGB fans as standard installed at key points, two at the front and a third at the rear.

It has space for seven expansion slots, more than enough for components to mount on a standard motherboard. can be mounted dedicated graphics cards up to 320mm in length and power supplies in ATX format up to 180 mm.

On the front, it has everything you need. Button to turn on/off the PC, connect peripherals to three USB ports, headphones or speakers thanks to the built-in 3.5 mm audio jacks and with an additional button that can function as a RESET and also LED, to control more than 15 different lighting effects of the fans.

To highlight details such as side tempered glass that gives it that modern and premium aesthetic and the dust filters located at the top and at the back. Its external design is visible, and part of a mesh front topped by a fixed part with the manufacturer’s logo. For our taste, a successful design, simple, but elegant and in a manageable size.

Installation and operation

The disassembly of the metal side, the tempered glass and the front, is done without the need for tools and in a minute we have the box ready for assembly. We disassemble everything to be able to work more comfortably.

For the test, we installed an ASUS motherboard that houses an AMD Ryzen processor in an AM4 socket. The board has a micro-ATX format, but as you will see in the images there is enough space to install an ATX of any platform, AMD or Intel.

The dedicated space at the bottom for the power supply is a success and all modern towers of a certain level opt for this design that makes the task much easier, both for mounting the PSU itself and for distributing the power cables to the board. base and components, keeping the board as ‘clean’ as possible.

The idea should be that, to reduce to the maximum that nothing interrupts the air circulation and we have good ventilation to keep temperatures at bay, a critical section in any PC. Dust filters always help because you already know everything that can accumulate over time in a PC case.

We have not installed liquid cooling because the selected platform (for the test with a Ryzen 5 5500 processor) does not need it and the stock fan provided by AMD is more than enough. But the radiator could be installed on top without major difficulties. And if you opt for air cooling for the CPU, but want to install another type of fan that is larger than the standard one, there is a lot of space for it because of the width of the tower. For general cooling, three additional 120mm fans can be additionally installed.

The cable management It is correct and the necessary cables to connect buttons and ports on the front pass through the rear side and the openings made in the panel facilitate its insertion in different parts of the motherboard. It has space for a few storage units, both 3.5 and 2.5 inches, although they are becoming less necessary due to the widespread use of solid-state drives in M.2 format connected to PCIe in the same motherboard. In our case we have placed a SATA SSD in the back without major difficulties.

Nfortec includes a small bag with additional screws to secure the board and the rest of the components, and at the bottom it has four circular, rubberized studs to maintain the stability of the tower on any surface.

The truth is that the installation is done without any problem. With a little patience and some additional cable ties if you need it to hold the wiring, you can leave a fairly clean interior space and free the CPU, chipset or RAM memory from obstacles that penalize air circulation.

Once installed, it’s time to decide if you want to place the box under or on top of the desk, depending on the space available and your tastes. If you use a good-sized table and you like to see your tower, you should know that this model is not out of place due to its classic but elegant design and a size that, being sufficient, we can consider content.

He tempered glass side It always provides a plus level in finishes and allows you to see the internal components in action. The button mentioned on the front allows you to change the color of the fans in a super easy way and access more than 15 different lighting effects to personalize your equipment and/or adapt it to other peripherals you use.

Conclude by saying that in the tests carried out we have not had any problems with operation or temperatures. The three fans that the tower includes as standard and their strategic placement keep temperatures under control and there are possibilities to mount an additional three if you need it.

conclusions

Nfortec Caelum Black is a PC tower prepared to mount consumer motherboards of any size. Constructed of lightweight steel to contain the weight, it has enough space to install any type of component, including large dedicated graphics cards, power supplies of any wattage, and liquid cooling systems.

The dedicated space at the bottom for the power supply is a real bonus for your installation and cable management. The tempered glass panel gives it that plus of any good tower and allows you to show off internal components, while the mesh-front design facilitates airflow for optimal cooling and provides the visual appeal you always need if you mount the tower on top of your desktop.

Nfortec Caelum Black is available on the manufacturer’s website for a price of €59.95. Very economical for what it offers and within the reach of any budget, which is why, together with its characteristics, it obtains our recommended product logo.

Say that Nfortec sells this same tower in white finish with a Caelum White model that looks really great. It is the same price as the Black model and like it is also available at retailers like Amazon.
