Being a project already known for a few months, finally Netflix begins to advance some details about his new series adaptation of the classic Resident Evil, bringing us a new installment full of action, tension, and many zombies. Although unlike what we could expect, this new live-action does not seem to have any kind of direct connection with the latest Resident Evil animation installment: Infinite Darkness, which debuted on the platform last July.
As for this new installment of Resident Evil in live action format, the details are still a bit scarce. Looking at the new teaser images that the official Netflix Twitter account has shared today, it seems that the T-Virus could be making a comeback in some way, along with a drug manufactured by Umbrella called “Joy”.

Although resorting to the previous advances offered by netflixgeekedwho shared a brief synopsis on Twitter in August 2020, it seems that The first season will consist of eight one-hour episodes.and will be directed by former executive producer Andrew Dabb (Supernatural).
So that, the story will focus on “the Wesker kids” and their move to New Raccoon City, a city in which they will begin to discover a series of dangerous secrets. A surname that is possibly known to some of the most recurring players in the saga, related to Albert Weskermain antagonist from its first installment until Resident Evil 5
And it is that in fact the live action series will star Lance Reddick (The Wire and Lost) as Albert Wesker, the main character of this installment; along with Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), Tamara Smart (The Worst Witch, Artemis Fowl), Siena Agudong (No Good Nick), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale) and Paola Nuñez (Bad Boys for Life) .
Unfortunately, while we would love to be able to create this additional background around the main series of games, for now it is unknown if it will be a related story or if, on the contrary, we will see an original and completely independent story. And it is that if the screen adaptations of this saga have been characterized by something, it is their great freedom.
