In a few days, OnePlus will officially present the successor to the OnePlus Nord CE. It will be released on February 17 and will initially be restricted to the Indian market.
Available for a few months in France, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G left us with a good impression. His successor is already here and will be officially unveiled on February 17. The manufacturer has confirmed the date of presentation of its new affordable smartphone in a video.
This new model, soberly called OnePlus Nord CE 2, takes place within the CE range. The Chinese manufacturer has taken a new turn in recent months by launching this series, whose letters mean “Core Edition”. A bit like Samsung with its Galaxy FE (for Fan Edition), the brand makes some concessions to offer the OnePlus experience at a more affordable price. Now presented as a sub-brand of Oppo, it wants to continue on this path.
The Nord CE2 promises to take “the best elements of Nord 2 and puts them into a more accessible package”. It is already recorded that the device will be entitled to SuperVOOC wired fast charging at 65 W and a 3.5 mm jack. A microSD port will also be there to expand storage space up to 1 TB.
OnePlus is more discreet about the rest of the features, but many rumors are circulating about it. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 would be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G chip and would continue to offer a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. The refresh rate would remain at 90 Hz and a triple photo sensor is expected at the rear. We can expect a 64 Mpx main module, associated with an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle and a 2 Mpx depth sensor.
OnePlus makes an appointment on February 17
As the GSMArena site points out, this smartphone could come close to the Oppo Reno 7 SE 5G with an improved photo part. An unsurprising element since the two brands have merged. This will affect the software of this OnePlus Nord 2 CE, with the announced merger of Oxygen OS 12 (based on Android 12) and ColorOS.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 will be presented on February 17 and will be released in India first. OnePlus does not yet mention its availability in Europe or the rest of the world. In the event of arrival in France, it could position itself against Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11. Remember that its predecessor arrived in France in June 2021, with an introductory price of 299 euros (in 6/128 GB version).
