OnePlus: the Nord range could take off and become a brand in its own right

As Xiaomi had done with its Poco range, OnePlus would consider parting with its Nord range to make it a new brand in its own right. Nord would fly on its own and the brand would have its own development team.

It would seem that the success of the Nord range give ideas to OnePlus. The Chinese company would thus think of making its range a real new under-brand, a little as Xiaomi has done with its Poco range. Launched in 2020, OnePlus’ Nord range offers entry-level and mid-range smartphones.

And given the success it has acquired, the OnePlus range could very quickly fly on its own. Nord could thus have its own development team and operate completely independently. Nord could, however, use the brand name of its parent company in certain cases. And this could in particular materialize by the inscription “Nord by OnePlus” or “A OnePlus brand” on the logo of the new brand.

OnePlus would consider making its Nord range a real brand in its own right

This indiscretion has just been revealed by the site The Mobile India, which according to its sources, says that the OnePlus brand would like to dissociate itself from the North name to make it a new brand in its own right. The Nord brand would thus operate independently and in particular would keep its light blue color. If this separation is indeed confirmed, it could allow Nord to expand even further into the entry and mid-range smartphone market.

The brand could launch its own smartphones and it could rely on its own shops, which points us to the fact that Nord would push its offline presence a bit more, if all this were confirmed. Also, Nord would offer smartphones with a new interface installed on top of OxygenOSwith always affordable prices between 180 and 450 euros.

But that’s not all, because the new sub-brand in the making could also be launched in other markets, with a much wider range of products than usual. This could concern bracelets or connected watches, headphones or even televisions.
