Philips Fidelio FB1, FW1 and FS1: soundbar, subwoofer and speaker for the new Fidelio AV platform

Today we have not only known the new Philips televisions, Philips OLED807 and Philips 8807, Philips Sound has also presented three new devices that will be the first to join the new AV platform focused on Philips Fidelio. More specifically, the manufacturer has presented the Philips Fidelio FB1 sound bar, the Philips Fidelio FW1 subwoofer and the Philips Fidelio FS1 satellite speaker. These new devices have been designed following the guidelines of the Fidelio range, that is, a design with high quality materials and audio transmission in several rooms and channels.

The new Philips Fidelio wireless AV system is based on the DTS PlayFi technology, which uses an app-driven multi-room audio platform to provide seamless connection and streaming between compatible TVs, mobile devices, soundbars and speakers, located anywhere in the home.

The new Philips Fidelio range also works as a “smart” ecosystem, where each speaker can “sense” when another device is connected, be it the Philips Fidelio FB1 sound bar to the Philips Fidelio FW1 subwoofer, adding the Philips Fidelio FS1 as a secondary channel, or adding a second Philips Fidelio FS1 to form a pair stereo. In each case the products will automatically adjust to ensure that the best possible acoustic performance is always delivered.

The crown jewel of the new Philips Fidelio AV platform is the Fidelio FB1, a sound bar with 7.1.2 channels, 15 speakers and 310W (RMS) of power to ensure good sound performance. The soundbar is divided into separate enclosures for its LCR sections to minimize crosstalk and ensure higher resolution/clarity. Each of the LCR channels also features a pair of midrange drivers positioned on either side of a tweeter in a classic D’Appolito arrangement for better integration of mid and high range sound.

What’s more, the Philips Fidelio FB1 features two side-firing speakers, one at each end of the bar, to spread the sound further into the room and create an immersive sound effect. Additional extension is provided by two Dolby Atmos elevation drivers mounted at the top of the bar on either side of a bass cabinet that features two subwoofers.

Lastly, the bar boasts a high-quality finish, characteristic of models Philips Fidelio. Includes an envelope muirhead leather around the beveled edge of the soundbar and a acoustically transparent wire mesh, all designed to perfectly complement the design of the manufacturer’s televisions.

The Philips Fidelio FB1 will be available in Spain from June 2022 with an official price of 1,000 euros.

As for the design, it mixes leather and Muirhead wood finishes with a brushed aluminum lid. Like the sound bar, it sports a premium aesthetic with high-quality materials. The Philips Fidelio FW1 will be available in Spain from June 2022 with an official price of 500 euros.

The last of the devices presented today was the wireless speaker Fidelio FS1. It’s about a loudspeaker with a three-way design which allows it to be used as a single unit, as a stereo pair or as satellite speakers in a 7.1.4 system together with the FB1 and FW1.

The Philips Fidelio FS1 includes one front-firing tweeter, one up-firing midrange unit, and one down-firing woofer. Bass performance is enhanced by the addition of two passive speakers. The power is 60W (RMS), thus being able to work perfectly in medium-sized and even large rooms.

Like the rest of the range, the FS1 sports an elegant design that mixes Muirhead leather and metal to offer a high quality finish. In addition, the FS1 also includes Integrated LED lights designed to work and sync with Philips Ambilight TVs, extending the Ambilight effect to the entire room.

The new Philips Fidelio FSI will be available in Spain from October 2022 with an official price of 250 euros.
