The launch of the Nothing Phone (2) is just around the corner, and thanks to a series of early listings we already know the price that this terminal will have in Europe. As expected, there has been a significant price increase against Nothing Phone (1), and the truth is that the jump is great and may end up having a difficult time.
I put you in a situation so that you have my words better. The Nothing Phone (1) hit the market as a premium mid-range smartphone, both in terms of components and performance as well as build quality. Its launch price was 469 eurosa figure that we could consider as acceptable taking into account its benefits and its quality of finishes.
We knew that the price of the Nothing Phone (2) was going to be much higher because it was no longer going to be positioned as a mid-range, but was going to be a high-end model, but we expected the price to remain in the range of the 600 euros. In the end, and according to the listings of a French retailer, the price of said smartphone will be 729 euros in its base versionwhich will be equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage capacity.
The top-of-the-range model will have 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage capacity, and will cost 849 euro. These figures pose a major problem for us because today we can find more powerful smartphones equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC for that moneylike the Galaxy S23, for example, and because it seems that the Nothing Phone (2) is not going to be up to the task in the photographic section, since it is expected to maintain a set of cameras similar to those of the current model.
Keep in mind that although the filtered price applies to the French market, we do not expect major changes in the rest of the euro zone, and that it is most likely that in Spain it will be costly practically the same as in our neighboring country. We will have to wait and see what value it offers and if it is capable of justifying such a high price, but as I have already said, it will be difficult, both for the photographic section and for its SoC, since it will come configured with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 .
