Gone are the times when QNAP it was synonymous only with NAS or enterprise storage. Although it continues to be an important core of its business, its approach goes much further and seeks to continue broadening its horizons to become an IT infrastructure manufacturer with which it seeks to be more practical and advanced performance.
During a day that combined entertainment with information, QNAP updated its news in both strategy and product. A portfolio where it has a prominent place for the range of switches, security as well as software and service. As I commented Adrian Gobra, QNAP Country Manager for Spain and Portugal:
«We are making a great effort so that the market sees us as a manufacturer of IT infrastructure. To do this, we have strengthened the performance of our solutions, added more secure and advanced default security, and extended warranties and disk coverage.
In fact, the provider is increasing your services to be able to give more value to partners and customers. “We have always had a very SME mentality, but our objective with the expansion of high availability product ranges and the best performance on the market is to continue expanding the business on the Enterprise side”, pointed out Adrián Gobra.
QNAP has grown 28% in the first quarter of 2023
And this increase in business does not seem to be going astray. QNAP have grown in the first quarter of the year by 28%. An important milestone considering that “We come from the best years of our history in Spain”highlighted the head of the company.
The rise in his business comes from all product lines and is giving more weight, for example, to networking, which accounts for 9% of billing. «With the improvement of the stock and the economy, we are noticing that companies are more willing to invest. We have also increased our market share and have entered into public tenders thanks to the more flexible conditions»argued the spokesman.
New products, new needs
Limiting releases within QNAP’s portfolio is one of the company’s goals for this year. “In this way, we want to improve supply, which is still difficult in certain categories, and focus on innovation in certain products”they explained.
Not for this reason we will not see news in QNAP. The first will come from its QTS Hero operating system, which launches version 5.10 in beta with new features such as multi-channel smb, sack authenticator, Auto RAID replacement, and a module to support AI with Hailo 8.
Also QNAP’s application hypervisor, Virtualization Station, is improved to give more coverage in virtualized environments.
For its part, the NAS family incorporates new members such as the TS-h1090FU with 25GbE, the TDS-h2489FU or the TS-h2490FU for Intel and AMD processors. High capacity comes with the TS-1655.
In the case of switches, the innovations include ADRA security that can be installed by default or with QNE Network OS that allows creating virtualization platforms to manage switches such as the QU CPE-7012. Also new is the QHORA 321/322 router with 2.5GbE with more user capacity.
