Today we are going to see a method that, for those who are a few years old like me, will not seem strange. And the thing is that, at least before, the discs were of poorer quality, or rather the reader, and that meant that, after good use and scratches, they did not work. For this, there was a trick. Let’s see it.
How to repair a scratched game?
There are multiple ways to do it, but today we are going to see a particular one, which may or may not work, it will depend on more factors that we will now analyze.
The method is very simple, either with toothpastegel or any material of the same texture and similarity.
The first thing we have to do is use alcohol and a cotton ball to thoroughly clean all possible areas of the disc. Once done, we will have to take the material we have chosen, in my case toothpaste and put a little on the scratches that we see, or failing that, all over the disc.
Then we will have to take a cotton pad again and remove all the excess, to leave it as clean as possible without eliminating the gaps filled with this material.
At this point we will only have to put it in our Xbox or Play and, if you are lucky, the disk will work for a few days without major problems. Now, it doesn’t always work. Because?
This method works If your disk is in decent condition, if there was important and necessary information on the scratches, toothpaste or other material will not work, since you cannot make up data that you do not know.
That is why you have to be careful and always keep your discs in good condition. There are specific tricks when it starts to fail, but that is a sign that it will not last long using this trick.
There are also polishing machines, which perform somewhat the same effect, although in this case polishing the areas that do not have scratches to leave it more or less flat. The final result would be the same, however, it is not infinite either, once polished we will not be able to do it again otherwise we would lose all the data, so we are in the same situation.
Our recommendation is always to buy online games, it is much less interesting, just like reading a paper or digital book, but at least you make sure that you are not going to lose, break or spoil it, and you will always have it at hand. Unless you forget your password, of course.
