If you are a user of Ile-de-France transport, you should soon be able to claim compensation on your Navigo Pass. Indeed, following the multiple strikes against the pension reform, the RATP wants to make people forget the disturbances caused by these social movements.

As stated by the Autonomous Paris Transport Authority, this compensation campaign must begin on July 5, 2023. But beware, crooks have decided to jump at the chance to scam users. Indeed, fake refund emails are already circulating on the web.

A fake email and a fake RATP website

The pirates have done things according to the rules of the art: the aesthetics of the company is taken to the letter (in particular the logo). The message says that “all travelers from Ile-de-France with a Navigo pass between September 2022 and June 2023 can request reimbursement for half a month, i.e. €37.60”.

To claim this compensation, users must go to the dedicated platform via the link included in the email. Of course, this link redirects the victim to a certified copy of the RATP website. You will first be asked for your credentials (any word or ID works) before being sent to another page where you will need to fill in your name, mailing address, phone number and most importantly: your bank details of course.

Misspellings and a bogus domain name

Note that if an effort has been made on aesthetics, these fake emails are full of spelling mistakes. Example : “Claims begin on Monday July 3 and end on Monday July 17”. Then let’s specify that the scam email was sent by a legitimate email address of a Brazilian entrepreneur (hacked no doubt).

As our colleagues from Numerama add, its domain name www.iledefrance.mobilites.fr was filed on July 3. Also, it is hosted in Russia on a server that has already been used in other scams. As a reminder, the RATP will always contact you via the following addresses: [email protected] Or [email protected]. Regarding compensation, the RATP has set up a dedicated page.
