Snapchat is working on a new paid plan called Snapchat Plus

Like Twitter or Instagram, Snapchat is in turn considering integrating a paid formula. Called Snapchat Plus, this subscription service will allow you to take advantage of certain exclusive and additional content and features.

Since the implementation of Apple’s anti-ad tracking system on iOS 14.5, many social networks and applications have had to review their economic strategy, to compensate for the loss of revenue linked to this feature. This was the case with Instagram, which allows content creators to set a paid subscription so that subscribers access exclusive experiences.

Twitter has also launched Twitter Blue, a paid monthly subscription that offers premium features. And while Snapchat will integrate advertisements into the stories of the stars, it was expected that the social network also opts for a paid formula.

Snapchat also wants to launch its paid formula

This will indeed be the case as revealed by our colleagues from The Verge. In effect, Snapchat is currently conducting internal testing for a paid subscription dubbed Snapchat Plus. Obviously, we find here the idea of providing users with early and exclusive access to features and content.

Here is what Liz Markman, spokesperson for Snapchat, said in the columns of The Verge: “We’re doing preliminary internal testing of Snapchat Plus, a new subscription service for Snapchatters. We are excited to be able to share exclusive, experimental and preview features with our subscribers, and to learn more about how we can better serve our community.”

According to screenshots posted by reputable developer and leaker Alessandro Paluzzi, Snapchat Plus allowed pinning a friend as Best Friend (BFF in the language of Shakespeare), to access exclusive icons, to see who has reviewed your stories or to see the places visited by your friends (provided that they have authorized this) during the last 24 hours. .

Otherwise, Alessandro Paluzzi indicates that the price would be set at €4.59 per month, i.e. €45.99 per year. Of course, these features, like this price list, should be taken with a grain of salt, for lack of more official information from Snapchat.
