Spider-Man: No Way Home winks at Tobey Maguire’s Peter in the new TV commercial

As if that were not enough the latest trailer (revised and corrected) of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the numerous promotional videos of recent days to increase the hype for the awaited cinecomic Marvel, today a new TV spot of the film has landed online which, in some way, winks at the spider trilogy of Sam Raimi.

Sony Pictures UK has in fact published a commercial containing an unpublished dialogue scene that sees protagonists Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) e Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina).

Spider-Man, Doc Ock and Doctor Strange together in the new No Way Home TV commercial

As you can see in the following video, the Sorcerer Supreme asks Doc Ock if he knows “a Peter Parker who is Spider-Man”, with the villain replying yes. Except, when Strange turns back to Octavius pointing to Peter and saying “is that him?” receives a sharp and negative response from Doctor Octopus.

Obviously, for Otto, Tom Holland’s is not the face of the Peter Parker that he knows very well and that he expected to be that of Tobey Maguire.

Release date, synopsis and details of the film

Spider-Man: No Way Home will arrive on December 15, 2021, with Marvel who is keen to clarify that the film will be visible (for now) exclusively in cinemas.

For the first time in movie history, Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero, is exposed and is no longer able to separate his normal life from the high risk of being a superhero.

When he asks Doctor Strange for help, the stakes become even higher and more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it really means to be Spider-Man.

The film, directed by Jon Watts and co-produced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, sees a cast consisting of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx And Tony Revolori, even if we are all anxiously waiting for other important names to officially join the acting crew (and we know very well which names we want to hear).
