The digital divide is still quite significant in France, with 7 out of 100 French people having neither a smartphone nor any Internet access at home. A beer app on iOS was making more than 15,000 euros a day
The oldest of our readers will perhaps remember iBeer, this famous application which simulated the tasting of a beer on iPhone. It was a resounding success on the first generations of iPhone, which included an accelerometer necessary to move the drink. Faced with the enthusiasm, the developer finally put the application on sale on the App Store for €2.49. It had become so popular that the developer earned almost 15,000 euros a day.

Some French people still live without a smartphone or the Internet
According to an INSEE survey, 7% of the French population over 15 does not have Internet access at home and does not have smartphones. France is therefore still subject to the digital divide, although we are in one of the European countries where Internet access is the most widespread and the least expensive. The smartphone penetration rate is 90%, while only 78% of French people have residential Internet access.

Huawei has just launched its first flip smartphone in France, the P50 Pocket. On the program, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a 4000 mAh battery, a 6.9-inch OLED screen and a photo part worthy of a traditional high-end smartphone. Its particularity: a small 1-inch circular screen on the back capable of displaying different information when the smartphone is closed.
