‘The Knights of the Zodiac’, official trailer of the live action adaptation

After several advances as brief as they are spectacular, Sony Pictures has published the official trailer for Knights of the Zodiacthe new film adaptation of the classic anime whose premiere is about to fall.

There are plenty of presentations Knights of the Zodiacafter dragonball (either Dragon Ball? Although for me it will always be dragon ball) the most popular anime series ever to hit Western television. A complete success of the nineties of the last century, forged a decade earlier by Masami Kurumada, creator of the original manga.

Well, the passage of time has only exalted the legend of some knights of the zodiac whose rehashes have gone from remarkable to mediocre and indecent, see examples of this hades saga, The legend of the Sanctuary or the horrible Netflix series, respectively. But the classic remains uncorrupted and with a legion of followers behind it.

Knights of the Zodiac

Thus, Sony Pictures in collaboration with Toei Company and Stage 6 Films have launched this “live action” film and international cast with which to relive history as never before. A cast with very well-known names, it should be noted: by Sean Bean (The Lord of the rings, Game of Thrones) in what was the role of Mitsumasa Kido, to other veterans such as Famke Janssen (X Men, GoldenEye) in that of Vander Graad or Mark Dacascos (Crying Freeman, john wick) in that of Mylock.

Of course, if you are a purist of the franchise and what you are interested in is knowing who the leading couple is, you can breathe easy, because as Seiya we have the Japanese Mackenyu (you can see him in the Kenshin the samurai warrior from Netflix) and in that of Saori Kido (Athena), Madison Iseman (jumanji). The rest of the gentlemen… There is a bit of everything.

We leave you with the trailer of Knights of the Zodiac, which as I was saying, looks spectacular as far as effects are concerned, although with a whiff of series more than cinema. The result, about which it is not possible to be very hopeful with the experience we have of anime adaptations that do not work, we will see from the next May 25, theatrical release date. Meanwhile…
