Volkswagen has just opened orders for the new ID.3 in France. Prices start from €42,990 for the “Life Plus” finish, an entry ticket reduced by around €3,100 compared to the previous generation.
After the opening of pre-orders in Germany, Volkswagen is launching this Wednesday, April 5, 2023 orders for its new ID.3 2023 in France. The manufacturer has just confirmed the news on its official website.
As a reminder, at the beginning of March the German company lifted the veil on the redesign of the ID.3. This new version of the electric city car is content to erase the faults of the first generationwith a more refined and mature exterior design, and a noticeable improvement in the materials used in the cabin.
So, what exactly does Volkswagen offer for the French market with this revised and corrected ID.3? On this generation, the German brand is launching two models, namely the ID. 3 Pro Performance and Pro S.
Two new models for the French market
On these two variants, we find a 150 kW electric motora power of 204 hp. On the torque side, you have to rely on 240Nm on Pro Performance and 310Nm on the Pro S. On the other hand, we notice differences on the batteries.
The Pro Performance has a battery with a net capacity of 58 kWhfor a maximum range in the WLTP mixed cycle of 427km. The Pro S relies on its side on a battery of 77 kWhfor a maximum autonomy of 557km. Both offer charging in alternating current up to 11 kW. In direct current, it will be 120kW for Pro Performance and up to 170kW for the Pro S (i.e. 35 kW more than the previous generation).

An entry ticket from €42,990
Next, we come to trim levels and prices. In the Pro Performance version, the new ID. 3 is available in three different finishes :
- Life Plus from €42,990
- Style from €44,990
- Style Exclusive from €46,990
As you can see, the three finishes are eligible for the ecological bonus of €5,000, since offered below the threshold of €47,000. On the other hand, the converse is not true on the Pro S:
- Style from €49,990
- Style Exclusive from €52,990
Details of equipment by finish
The question of price being addressed, let’s now see the detail of the equipment by finish:
- Life Plus (entry level): 12-inch central screen, App Connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch alloy wheels, Assistance Pack with Keyless Access and keyless start, reversing camera, front parking assistance radars and rear, alarm
- Style : all Life Plus standard equipment, 19-inch alloy rims, navigation system, heated seats and steering wheel, 2-zone air conditioning, induction charging for smartphones
- Exclusive Style : all Life Plus and Style equipment, Travel Assist 2.5 semi-autonomous driving, 360° View camera, panoramic roof, DCC dynamic chassis control, driving profile selection, Artvelours upholstery with electric and massaging front seats, head-up display in augmented reality, 20 inch alloy wheels
Volkswagen lowers prices on this generation
As said before, orders are now open, but please note that Volkswagen has not yet specified delivery times. Going back to the prices charged, VW therefore offers a more interesting entry ticket since the ID. 3 Pro Performance is trading at €42,990 instead of €46,750 on the old version.
And again, with the ecological bonus of €5,000 and the €2,500 conversion bonus, the bill can go down to €37,750. And yes, Volkswagen offers up to 1500 € of trade-in offer in addition to the estimated value of your old vehicle.
On the other hand, we regret a different tariff range from that of our German neighbors. across the Rhine, the ID. 3 Pro Performance is displayed at €39,995. As for the 45 kWh version, billed at €34,220 in France, it unfortunately fell by the wayside with this new generation.
