In the world of technology there is a premise that tends to get the most out of it, and it is none other than miniaturizing products to their minimum expression. It may be that the opposite happens with mobile phones, but the truth is that making things smaller is usually an attractive challenge for many manufacturers, and it seems that we have found one that has just achieved a record in terms of cameras.

The smallest camera in the world

Gather Tech is a Japanese company that has launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring its MiniCaa small digital camera with a screen, which weighs only 17 grams and measures 40 x 47 x 36 millimeters. It is so small that the first thing you will think when you see it is that it is a simple keychain to accompany your keys, but the truth is that it is a fully functional model.

And with functional we mean that it is capable of doing photos at 4K resolution and record videos at full HD resolutionwhich can be recorded on a microSD card that you can insert into one of its sides.

It has an extremely tiny 0.96-inch screen, which may not be useful for viewing much, but it will help you frame and adjust the shot before shooting.

It is real?

The product is completely real, and the photos and videos it gets are pretty decent, however, don’t expect extreme quality as it has physical limitations that are insurmountable. And it is that it does not have a great lens with which to obtain a great definition (it is still a fairly small hole covered in plastic), so in case of suffering with light conditions, the most normal thing is that the photos and videos are affected.

The images shared by the manufacturer are not bad, and it is just what we could expect from a camera that fits in your pocket.

And yes, that thing that looks like a keychain is no coincidence. The camera has a grip so you can hang it from a suitcase, keep it with your keys or stick it out of your pocket, becoming an object that can always be with you.

How much does it cost?

This peculiar miniature camera can be reserved through the Japanese crowdfunding platform Greenfunding with a price of 7,024 yen (about 45 euros), although its official price will be a little higher, reaching 50 euros. We do not know if the product will reach other markets, but considering how small it is, it could easily make the leap to Europe through distributors.
