The Spanish company Sepiia wins the #CirCoAX Startup Europe Awards 2022

The Spanish fashion and technology startup, Sepiia, has been the winner of the CirCoAX Startup Europe Awards 2022, a tool that will speed up and scale its textile technology with 100% recycled fibers and circular, worldwide. The award was delivered a few weeks ago.

Sepiia proposes clothes that it does not stain, does not wrinkle, does not absorb odors and is designed to save resources in the long run. A quality that has been taken into account by the jury since it saves carbon dioxide (CO2) and water, and is respectful of the environment. “Sepiia believes that a change is possible. Since 2016 we have been researching how to make more sustainable garments that generate fewer emissions, use less water and resources, and have a positive impact on the planet.” stated yesterday Paula Christopher, Head Designer & Product Developer at Sepiia.

Under the dark blue tinted sky and the moon as a witness, the textile sector shone with its own light during the delivery ceremony of the CirCoAx30 Startup Europe Awards, an initiative of the European Commissionsupported and implemented by the Finnova Foundation in collaboration with StartUp Europe Awards.

Juanma Revuelta, Finnova CEO, dove garciafounder of The Circular Project, Sharam Yalda, founder of Human Nation and david allo, director of sustainability of Texfor, presented the European project CirCoAX by CircularInnooboster, a project belonging to the COSME program, in which they have been working for the last 8 months providing coaching and mentoring to the 30 transnational associations that comprise it.

Innovative proposals in circular economy

Once light was shed on the main problems generated by the textile sector in the environment, the candidates proceeded to present their proposals, innovative solutions that mitigate negative impacts and eliminate bad practices in this area. Brefashion, GB/VX, DeleiteWear, Fashiongreenhub, Sepiia, Hilaturas Arnau, Infinite Athletic, From the med, Nano Textile Solutions and Newex, presented their inspiring projects, and demonstrated their dedication and eagerness to turn this industry into an example of transition towards sustainability.
