After finding out when it will come out The Wheel of Time, the fantasy series created by Amazon Studios and based on the saga of novels by Robert Jordan, the first images and some new details from the show have landed online.
History “Is set in a fantasy world where magic exists, but only some women can access it. The story follows Moiraine (Pike) a member of a dark and influential, all-female magical organization who leads five young men on a journey around the world, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn (Josha Stradowski), a powerful individual. that will save humanity or destroy it. “
In a recent interview with EW, Pike explained:
“Moiraine is the leading figure in this world, the mysterious stranger who comes to town and changes their lives forever. They leave with her on a journey that will save or destroy humanity “
EW further revealed that, as a member of Aes Sedai, “Moiraine is a master of channeling a magical force called ‘One Power’. Lives before, both men and women were able to access magic, but an evil known as the Dark One has tainted the male side. Now any man capable of mysticism is hunted down by Aes Sedai and deprived of his abilities (a process that can prove fatal). The example of this fate is Logain (Álvaro Morte), a man who can channel the One Power and who attempts to establish himself as the reincarnation of the Dragon Reborn, a long-lost messiah. “
Showrunner of the series, Rafe Judkins, said: “Just as men often try to turn off female power in our world, the Aes Sedai are trying to stop this man from becoming too powerful. If, hypothetically, one of our male characters were able to use the One Power, they understand the stakes from what they see of Logain. “
