Keep in mind that this will depend on some factors, such as where your router is located or where exactly you are going to connect from. But generally these places that we are going to mention are where the wireless network tends to go the worst and we are going to explain why.
Kitchen
One of those places in the house where Wi-Fi is worse is the kitchen. Why is this happening? For example for the microwave. It uses a frequency close to 2.4 GHz and that causes interference and makes the signal not adequate. If you are also far from the router, the quality can be very bad.

It is common to have connection problems when we move to another floor of the house. It does not mean that there is a fault with the router or with the computer that we use, but they are simply normal limitations.

So what can we do to avoid these problems? As you can see, there are areas where Wi-Fi is worse, but you can fix it. One possibility is to directly connect by wire whenever possible. This way you will avoid interference, problems with other household appliances or bridge the distance from one floor to another. But of course, that is not always possible.
If you need to connect from other corners of the house in what is known as a dead zone, keep in mind these options that will come in handy:
- PLC devices: you connect them to the electrical network and they are ideal for taking the connection from one place to another in the house. You can connect to them via cable or Wi-Fi.
- mesh systems: a perfect option to cover a large area. Very useful if you have several floors or a large house.
- wireless repeaters: you can place them in a specific area where you want the signal to reach especially well.
As you can see, you have several alternatives to improve the Wi-Fi connection at home, although in many cases it is enough to change the location of the router. This will help the signal reach other areas of the house better.
