a necessary discount

Over the years the Netflix subscription has become more and more expensive. From a manageable cost, and which has always had three different payment variants, we have moved to a price for many prohibitive, especially if we take into account that the red N also intends to pursue the shared slopes that have given so much relief to the portfolio of many users for quite some time.

Netflix.

That is why knowing that the platform considered a drop was received as good news. Of course, the proposal had a trick: the way to reduce the cost of your subscription was through consume ads when accessing their content. Among the great differences that exist between conventional TV and streaming services is the fact that in these seconds there are no ads, something that we have become accustomed to over time but that continues to be one of its main and most attractive signs. of identity.

What we still don’t know at this point is how much it will cost to “sell” our soul to the devil. The company continues without letting go, although now, thanks to Bloomberg we can get an idea of how things would look in our pocket.

The prices with advertising

According to the US media, the streaming giant is considering charging $7 to $9 a month for its ad-supported content option. That could easily translate into a fork from 7 to 9 euros in Spain, which would be quite similar to the most basic Netflix plan (the video in SD and on a single device), which is currently priced at 7.99 euros. On the other side we have the Premium plan, with a monthly cost of 17.99 euros (and 4K resolution among other options).

And how will that publicity be? Similar to the one we see on TV or like the YouTube ads? Will we see personalized content based on our history? Again according to information from Bloomberg, Netflix is very concerned about the rejection that you can generate in the users so you will be very careful how you handle all this. At first, the company plans to show only a few four minutes of commercials every hour and has none scheduled at the end of a series or movie. They also won’t be shown on Netflix kids’ content or its original movies.
