Wandavision makes Marvel history with these two awards

Wandavision, a different story

At this point it is difficult that you do not know what it is about Wandavision –which in Spain was titled as Scarlet Witch and Vision-, but just in case it catches you totally out of the game, we tell you that it is a Marvel Studios and Disney + production in TV series about the aforementioned Avengers.

The idea with this series (the first of many that are planned in the UCM) is to connect with the movies of the cinema, expanding in most cases the stories of the characters “less protagonists” to enrich the whole set.

The particularity of this proposal is that far from betting on the traditional format that we have been seeing on the big screen, it surprised everyone with a different edition, in which it was committed to paying a tribute to the old american sitcoms in a mixture of present and past that has convinced many (and also scared others, of course).

Now we know that at least the specialized critics recognize (and a lot) the value of this series, with the nominations obtained for one of the most important awards in the sector.

An Emmy for history

As you may already know, although the Emmy gala is not held until next week, a few days before the artistic prizes are always awarded (and less media, why not say it), the so-called Creative Arts Emmys. And precisely this morning the winners of this 2021 edition have been revealed, with Wandavision among the graceful.

The series about Wanda and Vision is nominated for a total of 23 Emmy categories, including Best Actor and Actress for Paul Bettany and Elisabeth olsen, respectively. Also, of course, it had participation in the Creative Arts, of which it has now been known that it takes the Best production design for a narrative program (half an hour) and the Best locker room fantasy / science fiction.

Scarlet Witch and Vision - Wandavision

Pietro at Wandavision

These two awards represent a very important milestone in the history of Marvel Studios, since it is the first time that the firm has won an Emmy. In addition to demonstrating the great quality and impact that the narrative of Wandavision, reinforces the idea that Disney + He has had a brilliant idea in this of expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his television series.

Next week it will be more difficult (they are very competitive categories for other types of titles), but who knows, maybe we are again telling you around here that Scarlet Witch brings more awards under her arm. Don’t go far.
