In all generations of graphics cards (and this is for both NVIDIA and AMD), the mid-range models they have always been the top sellers: in the case of NVIDIA, the XX60 and in the case of AMD, the X6XX. For this reason, there is a lot of expectation about the next RTX 4060 of those in green, a graph that in theory should be arriving but of which we still know practically nothing.
Due to the shortage of raw materials that hit the industry a couple of years ago, coupled with the fact that the cryptocurrency “BOOM” caused quite a shortage in the graphics card market, also causing its price to skyrocket, have caused a rather atypical release schedule. Thus, since the launch of the top-of-the-range model, the RTX 4090, in October last year, NVIDIA has been slowly and gradually launching the immediately lower models: RTX 4080, RTX 4070 Ti and recently the RTX 4070.
Theoretically, the turn should come to the RTX 4060Ti as the next model to appear on the market, and proof of this is that the rumors and leaks about it have been happening, such as the fact that there will be two variants: one with 8 GB of VRAM and another with 16 GB and with a TDP slightly higher. But what about the RTX 4060?
The launch of the RTX 4060 should be imminent
As we have mentioned before, traditionally the RTX 4060 model of this generation should be the one that offers the best performance / price ratio, and therefore it should become the brand’s top-selling graphics card immediately, as long as it hits the market with enough stock, of course.
As is obvious, this graphics card would be below the performance of the graphics cards of its generation that are currently on the market (also below the RTX 4060 Ti that is or should be in the making), but its price will also be, and that’s a sure thing. Now, depending on “how much” below it is and how AMD responds to its launch with the alleged Radeon RX 7600 / 7600 XT, it will have more or less success.
We have already mentioned that NVIDIA has been launching the graphics of this generation by drops, and has gone from more to less; This means that if the RTX 4070 was released recently and we are now waiting for the RTX 4060 Ti to arrive, the RTX 4060 should be next on the list to arrive.
Of course, now you will be wondering when they will arrive and at what price, but as we have mentioned, the only certainty in this regard is that they will arrive after the Ti model and that, logically, they will have to be cheaper. The assumption is that the release of this chart should occur before summer arrives (towards july), and since the price of the RTX 4060 Ti will surely be around $450, it is most likely that they will move in a fork between 350 and 400 dollars; In any case, both the date and the price are simple assumptions, since as we have commented there is no confirmed data in this regard and, in fact, NVIDIA seems to have taken a position of “radio silence” in this regard.
