How do these programs work?
Music recognition applications allow you to identify songs based on certain characteristics of them comparing them with a database that has the program
Every song is made up of unique and unrepeatable chords and melodies, which, although they can be used to create other songs, due to their tone or the combination of elements used in their execution, give rise to a series of unique acoustic characteristics.
These characteristics are checked, as we have said, against the vast database of existing songs and depending on the unique features they have, it will take more or less time for the program to discover what song it is. And although there are songs that are similar because they have been inspired by other similar ones, if our program is good, it will know how to differentiate them at once.
Do you want to take a test? Try to get your regular application to distinguish between two songs that have almost the same beginning, such as “Love like Ours” by Jerry Rivera and “Hips don’t lie” from Shakira. If your program is able to distinguish them well, it is doing its job well.

Shazam is the undisputed king when it comes to finding songs. It is one of the first applications to develop this type of music recognition, it has a brutal database and the best thing is that it is easy to use. Among its characteristics we would highlight:

If I had to have a second in command when it comes to identifying songs on iPhone, SoundHound would be that choice without a doubt. This other application is also very complete and offers certain features that even make it more advanced than Shazam in some aspects.

If you are looking for a differential application, not so much in operation, as well as in all the advanced additions that it may have behind… Musixmatch is a great option to identify songs on iPhone. just tell me “OK Google, find this song”, the search engine will do a sweep contrasting with the application of Google Music, Youtube and with dedicated music blogs. It is not the most precise of all, but it is a valid option if you are looking for a quick search function without having to download something else or if you have little space to install applications.
