What to see this first weekend of September on Netflix, HBO Max and Amazon

What to watch on Netflix

The red N service has it difficult this week to overshadow HBO Max or Amazon Prime Video, but that does not mean that we cannot say that it does not have anything interesting to offer. In fact, we are going to propose two ideas for you to decide the one you like the most. On the one hand, the devil in ohio, a miniseries of only 8 chapters (lasting about 40-45 min on average), in which a psychiatrist shelters a fugitive from a sect in her house. The title is based on a novel of the same name written by Daria Polatin.

If you prefer other types of stories, you also have the possibility to see you are not special, about a young woman named Amaia who moves to a town in the Basque Country and discovers that her grandmother was known for her witchcraft practices. Has she inherited those powers?

What to watch on HBO Max

It is obvious that our proposal within HBO Max has as protagonists, once again, the relatives of the Targaryen saga. The House of the Dragona prequel to Game of Thrones, premiered on Monday chapter 2, in which it has proven to be at the same (high) level as the first one.

In addition to the adaptation of “Fire and Blood”, we have the arrival today of the long-awaited film Elvis. This narrates, as you can imagine from the name, the life of the famous and mythical American singer from the perspective of his controversial representative. The film hit theaters a couple of months ago and in principle the HBO max service should have arrived earlier but due to various disagreements -which we already told you about a few days ago- it has been delayed more than necessary, failing to comply with the famous 45 days of waiting between the movie theaters and the arrival in the catalogue.

Be that as it may, the biopic is already here so it’s perfect to find out what the life of the rock god was like.

What to watch on Amazon Prime Video

Are you an Amazon Prime subscriber and want to see something in its catalog of movies, series and documentaries? So you should know that today you have the opportunity to see one of the great premieres of the season for the platform (and its history, given the importance of the franchise and the great financial investment that has been made in the series). Yes, we are talking, of course, about The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerwith which we return to travel to the universe of JRR Tolkien to learn about the legends of the Second Age of the history of Middle-earth.

And what do the critics say? Well, the thing is quite divided: the specialized media seem to praise the work done in this new fiction while many fans are disenchanted with the result. You’ll have to keep an eye on it to give your verdict.

The link to Amazon Prime that you can see in this article is part of our Amazon affiliate agreement and we may earn a small commission with your new subscription. However, the decision to include it has been made freely, under the editorial criteria of El Output, without attending to suggestions or requests by the brands involved.
