This week, RED by SFR arrives an unprecedented RED Deal operation. It allows you to receive a free iPhone X provided you take a mobile plan (over 24 months) with him. The value for money is excellent, we explain the trick to you.
About a year ago, RED by SFR unveiled its first operation RED Deal. Faced with success, it has been updated several times with slightly different offers. The principle is always the same: for subscribing to a mobile plan with a commitment, you receive a free smartphone in return.
Unlike operators who subsidize the smartphone (“pay €8 per month for 24 months”), RED by SFR gives it to you for free. Once you have subscribed to the mobile plan, the phone is yours. You can then do what you want with it since it is unlocked. Right now the phone that is included in the RED Deal is a refurbished iPhone X in fair condition. This corresponds to a gift of 299 euros.
I take advantage of the free iPhone X
Until now, RED by SFR had included at best an iPhone 8 in its operation. This is the first time that the operator has pushed this far with an iPhone X. This is the first to have completely ignored the physical control button: you will have a very beautiful OLED (Super Retina) screen which will cover almost all the front surface of the case.
Financially, a great deal
To understand why the RED Deal is so interesting, you have to subtract the two parts: the cost of the package on one side and the gift offered (iPhone X) on the other. Apart from the RED Deal, we still remember that RED by SFR only focuses on non-binding mobile subscriptions. The RED Deal is however very interesting financially, which justifies this position.
The mobile plan included in this offer is as follows: it includes all unlimited calls, SMS and MMS, 100 GB of data in France and 15 GB in the EU and the overseas departments for 20 euros per month. Admittedly, it is more expensive than the 100 GB plan without commitment (15 euros per month) but it will give you access in return to an iPhone X completely free. Over a period of 24 months, this therefore amounts to 20 euros x 24 = 480 euros in total.
On the other side, RED by SFR gives you a free iPhone X with this RED Deal. It is an Apple smartphone which is refurbished in correct condition and which today sells for 299 euros on marketplaces for the resale of electronic products. It is therefore a gift of 299 euros that is given to you.
You must therefore subtract to see the real cost of your mobile plan over this period: 480 euros – 299 euros = 181 euros. Your 100 GB subscription will therefore only really cost you 181 euros over 24 months, or 7.54 euros per month..
I take advantage of the free iPhone X
Admittedly, you will not be billed 7.54 euros per month (but indeed 20 euros per month) but you have to keep in mind that RED by SFR has given you a real gift. If, for example, you decide to resell your iPhone X immediately to make a profit of 299 euros, this money can be used to finance your subscription over time.
In the end, of course, RED by SFR asks you for a commitment on its mobile plan, but it is to your advantage. When we compare the actual cost of this 100 GB subscription (7.54 euros per month) with the cost of its non-binding package including 100 GB (15 euros per month), it is half the price. It is also a real positive point to be able to be guaranteed such a price over two years.
A free iPhone X, with a plan
Our opinion on RED by SFR is clear: the RED Deal is the best offer currently available from the operator. Whether you directly resell the free iPhone X for a profit, or keep it to enjoy, you’re a winner every time. It is the most prestigious smartphone from Apple that the operator has put on sale via this offer.
By opting for a RED Deal and this free iPhone X, know that it will be delivered to you within 24 to 48 working hours at your home (or at a relay point). It has been checked at all levels and it is in good working order. A product warranty for 24 months is even included, which is reassuring for a refurbished product. Finally RED by SFR guarantees that the battery is at least 80% of its initial state.
Finally, if you are with another operator but you are interested in this mobile plan, nothing could be simpler. By calling 3179, you will be able to retrieve your RIO code. The latter is a code that allows you to transfer from one operator to another while keeping the same number. This is a free procedure which will be detailed to you when subscribing to the RED Deal on the official RED by SFR website.
This RED Deal with free iPhone X officially ends on Monday evening, March 7. We prefer to warn you: the majority of past RED Deals have ended even before the official end of their operation. Indeed, when the stock of smartphones allocated to the offer is empty, the operator withdraws its offer from the site. It is therefore in your best interest to hurry so as not to miss this deal.
