The development of Wolfenstein 3 may already be in progress at MachineGames, currently working on the Indiana Jones videogame.
The news comes from the LinkedIn profile of the Senior Game Designer of MachineGames, who said he was working on an “unannounced project” with the role of Lead Game Designer.
MachineGames working on a mysterious project, which could turn out to be Wolfenstein 3
The developer Teemu Kivikangas, Senior Game Designer at MachineGames, revealed that the company is working on a game not yet announced and many clues lead to the conclusion that the title could be its own Wolfenstein 3.
The series, successfully restarted in 2014 with Wolfenstein: The New Order, could soon see the third chapter of the MachineGames FPS arrive, awaited by all the fans who have been waiting for a sequel for 5 years Wolfenstein: The New Colossus.
The Swedish studio, which received the rights from Id Software, developer of the classic Wolfenstein 3D, has managed to bring new life into the franchise, bringing the protagonist BJ Blazkowicz to confront a dystopian world ruled by the Nazis.
Self Wolfenstein 3 was actually in the works, it could be released as an Xbox exclusive, following the agreement between Xbox and Bethesda earlier this year. Despite this, Pete Hines from Bethesda had assured players on other platforms that the company has no plans to end the existence of its titles outside of Microsoft consoles.
MachineGames, currently working on the previously announced game linked to Indiana Jones, may have begun development of the third Wolfenstein, given the intention by Bethesda to continue with the franchise of the famous shooter.
If the Indiana Jones game is in the early stages of development and will see the light in a few years, the same could be for Wolfenstein 3, unless the game is already in an advanced stage of development and kept secret until a surprise announcement from Bethesda.
