YouTube is testing an ad-free offer cheaper than its Premium

YouTube has announced the arrival of a new subscription plan, “YouTube Premium Lite”. It is not yet available in France.

Google is testing a new subscription formula for YouTube. Called “YouTube Premium Lite”, it will cost less than the subscription plans offered today, and will allow you to watch the videos without ads.

For the moment, the new formula is not available in France. However, we already know that it will cost 6.99 euros per month, instead of 11.99 euros currently.

As explained by our colleagues from Frandroid, it is by chance that a YouTube user realized the existence of this new offer. By seeking to unsubscribe, the latter was offered a new offer, YouTube Premium Lite.

The information has since been confirmed by Google, interviewed by the American media The Verge. ” In the Nordic countries and the Benelux, we are testing a new offer that will give our users even more choice. A Google spokesperson told The Verge.

What will the YouTube Premimum Lite plan contain?

On its site, YouTube specifies that the new subscription will allow:

  • watch videos without ads on YouTube
  • watch videos without ads in the YouTube Kids app.

It is important to note that this new formula will not give access to the services of YouTube Music.

YouTube Premium Lite is the third subscription plan offered by Google. YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium, which cost 9.99 euros 11.99 euros per month respectively, offer different advantages.

Youtube Music Premium allows you to listen to music without ads, download it, and keep the app open in the background on your smartphone, while YouTube Premium also allows you to watch all videos from YouTube without ads and have access to YouTube Originals content.
