a new leak suggests several versions and even prices

A new Nintendo Switch 2 rumor report claims to know the console price and release date of the new Nintendo console. However, as usual, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.

While the Nintendo Switch 2 was expected to arrive on the market in the first half of 2024, we will obviously have to wait until the second half for the launch of the new console. According to information shared on ResetEra, Nintendo has even already set a precise launch date: September 24. The console could also be available to everyone in November, as a placeholder suggests.

The author of this new leak is none other than Discord user SoldierDelta, who provided information and screenshots featuring Team NINJA’s Rise of the Ronin some time ago on The Snitch server. Although SoldierDelta demonstrated that it had access to confidential information, it may be too early for this information to be set in stone.

What prices for the Nintendo Switch 2?

The insider also reveals that the console, which is codenamed NG, would likely be available in 2 different versions: a fully digital model as well as a more classic model, like the PS5. This is the least realistic part of the rumor in our eyes, since it would be very surprising to see Nintendo launch a digital version of its console. The Japanese manufacturer is still one of the video game giants that sells the most physical versions around the world.

As for prices, you would have to count on 400 dollars for the digital version, while the version accepting cartridges would be sold for 450 dollars. This then corroborates another leak that was also thought to be quite improbable given the source’s controversial track record of making accurate predictions.

Expanding on all these details, it is mentioned that the NG codename is not a codename used by Nintendo, but is used by the developers who received the console. The report also mentions AR functions, as well as the lack of an OLED screen, meaning it will be an LCD screen.
