Amazon raises the level of its tablets with the Fire Max 11

Amazon has introduced the Fire Max 11 for Raise the level of your line of tablets. The new model increases the screen size and resolution over the Fire HD 10 that so far leads the series, mounts a higher performance SoC, better cameras and connectivity, has an amount of memory and storage that we can consider sufficient, and offers Optional accessories added for productivity tasks.

Amazon’s line of electronic tablets are well known for their remarkable feature-price ratio. The series begins with versions below the 100-euro line, which drops further in the special promotions that the e-commerce giant brings out from time to time. No wonder they lead sales in entry-level tablets with Android.

The Fire Max 11 is something else. It’s the company’s largest, most powerful and most versatile tablet to date. It is based on a multi-touch screen of 11 inches with native resolution expanded up to 2000 x 1200 pixels. Optionally, an Amazon Stylus Pen with USI 2.0 support and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity can be purchased. Also as an option, Amazon offers a detachable magnetic keyboard.

Its chipset has also been upgraded to a MediaTek MT8188J with 8-core CPU (2 ARM Cortex-A78 at 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 at 2 GHz) with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU at 950 MHz. It is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and internal storage of 64 or 128 Gbytes.

It mounts rear and front cameras, both 8 megapixels, and supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless standards. It has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, but no headphone jack. Amazon says the body is made in aluminum and “strengthened glass” for a weight of 490 grams with battery (we do not know its capacity) which according to the manufacturer will offer a autonomy of up to 14 hours.

At the bottom it has a set of pogo pins dedicated to connecting the keyboard without relying on the Bluetooth connection, and a USB Type-C connector for charging and data. It is also the first Amazon tablet to feature a fingerprint reader for security and authentication tasks.

Fire Max 11, availability and price

With the latest version of Fire OS pre-installed, Amazon’s own system on Android, the tablet will be available in several versions depending on storage capacity and if it includes the aforementioned accessories. The advertised dollar prices are just as attractive as the rest of the line:
