Apple releases watchOS 15 and tvOS 15 for all users


watchOS 8

Today is a big day for Apple users. Updates day. Starting right now, when we have updated our iPhone, iPad, Apple watch and Apple tvIt will seem that we are launching new devices, and we will begin to test the news that the new versions of the different software offer us.

Just an hour ago, Apple released IOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15 to all users. Let’s see what’s new in the new versions of the Apple Watch and Apple TV software.

For a few months Apple developers have been testing the different beta versions of the new software this year for all Apple devices, and after polishing the different bugs discovered beta after beta, they have finally been released for all users. So let’s focus on watchOS 8 and tvOS 15.

watchOS 8

To update to watchOS 8, make sure your Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone, connected to its wireless charger, and has at least 50% battery life. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, then select General -> Software Update and follow the onscreen instructions. If you have automatic updates turned on, your Apple Watch will update itself after updating your iPhone to iOS 15 and while connected to your charger.

Photos

watchOS 8 now supports show portrait photos captured from the iPhone directly on the watch face. Photos from Memories and Featured Photos now sync to Apple Watch every day, and you can view them on a watch face on your Apple Watch. Now you can also share Messages and Mail photos directly from Apple Watch.

Home

One of the novelties of the new Apple Watch software is the interaction with smart devices. From now on you can unlock a smart door lock, for example, with the Apple Watch. There is also a new Camera room app on the Apple Watch, which allows users to view security camera images directly on the watch.

Wallet

The Wallet app for Apple Watch from now on supports more digital keys, including house keys, garage keys, hotel keys, car keys, etc. Depending on each country, the driving license and ID stored in the Wallet app can be presented on the Apple Watch.

Messages and Mail

Edit text now it’s easier in watchOS 8, just use the digital crown to reposition the text input icon when typing. Now you can also write with dictation and scribble to create your messages. And you can also add gifs to your messages directly from the Apple Watch. The Music application is also new, and has been redesigned to make it even easier to share songs from the Apple Watch.

Focus

Like in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, Focus in watchOS 8 makes it easier to reduce distractions. Customizable modes allow users to choose which notifications they receive at a designated time
Suggested Focus options include workouts or fitness, mindfulness, etc.

Concentration modes

The Modes of Concentration app has been redesigned and expanded, and is now called Mindfulness
The Reflection feature allows users to focus on a single topic that invites concentration.
The Breathe feature now offers more visualizations while you breathe.

Sleep

watchOS 8 and Apple Watch can now track breaths per minute, which means it tracks your breathing rate while you sleep.

I train

Apple Watch’s Fall Detection will now record if you have a fall while exercising, and if it happens, it will automatically call for help. A more robust set of features for outdoor cyclists
Now supported Tai Chi and Pilates. Group workouts and new guided meditations are compatible with watchOS 8

tvOS 15

The new software update for the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K decoders does not bring much news. We know that SharePlay will not be available at launch. However, a new feature for tvOS 15 is the ability to log into tvOS 15 using Face ID or Touch ID from an iPhone, which will make logging in a lot easier.

tvOS 15 also brings support for pairing two minis of the HomePod for stereo output as long as you use an Apple TV 4K.
