Apple is preparing to unveil a new affordable connected watch, the Watch SE 2022, or Watch SE 2. Before its launch, we don’t already know more about its technical sheet, but especially about its price.
After unveiling a new generation of iPhone SE 5G, Apple is now preparing to unveil a new Apple Watch SE in 2022. Leaker LeaksApplePro shared with our colleagues iDropNews new information about Apple’s next generation smartwatch.
According to him, the next Apple Watch SE 2022 would be released at the end of the year with some new features, including a new processor. It would be a SoC S7, a modified version of the S6 processor from the 2021 Apple Watch Series 7, and a significant improvement over the S7 chip from the 2020 Apple Watch SE.
The Apple Watch SE 2022 would be more expensive than the 2020 watch
Unfortunately for those who were looking forward to the watch, it looks like it will be slightly more expensive than the previous version. Indeed, while the Apple Watch SE 2020 was offered from 279 dollars, the new version would be marketed from 299 dollars, or an additional $20. In France, the Apple Watch SE 2020 is available from 299 euros. It is therefore not impossible that the next Apple Watch SE exceeds the 300 euro mark if the leaker information is correct.
This price increase is probably due to the global shortage of semiconductors which greatly impacts production chains, but also to the arrival of new features on the watch such as the Always-On Display. We would also find an electrocardiogram, and a slightly faster recharge.
Finally, the watch would still be available in two models: one 40 mm and another larger 44 mm. We imagine that Apple will unveil its new connected watch in September alongside the iPhone 14. The American manufacturer should also lift the veil on a new high-end Apple Watch Series 8, which would ultimately not include a body temperature sensor. . This would be much more expensive, since it will be positioned between 400 and 500 euros.
