This we did not expect. ASUS has presented at CES a Xbox officially licensed controller which has many interesting features that make it an extremely interesting alternative as a controller for Xbox. The reason? A striking and futuristic OLED screen and three connection profiles with which not to miss the opportunity to play with it.
A controller with a screen
The proposal is, of course, striking. It could not be less if we take into account that it is part of the ASUS Republic of Gamers range. The ROG Raikiri Pro is a gamepad compatible with Xbox and PC that has USB-C, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz RF connection (the official Xbox controller), making it a completely versatile controller that you can use with virtually any device.
It has the classic distribution of Xbox buttons and sticks, with the peculiarity of including four extra buttons at the bottom that are fully customizableas well as limit buttons for the triggers, with which to achieve a shorter and faster press.
What is the screen for?
Although it is a purely aesthetic matter, the screen also offers some information that can be useful. A message with the percentage of charge will indicate how much battery is available in the device, and another message will notify us when the remote is trying to connect via Bluetooth, in addition to the fact that we will also enjoy striking animations that will give the remote a life of its own.

Something that has also caught our attention is that ROG Raikiki Pro hides an audio DAC inside that improves the sound, so if we connect headphones to the 3.5-millimeter port that it includes, we will obtain a notable audio improvement.
Two models available
ASUS has announced that it will have two models of the ROG Raikiri available, since there is the Pro model and the “normal”. The differences are quite important, since the basic version does not have an OLED screen, it can only be connected by cable and it has 2 programmable buttons.
Unfortunately we do not have official prices for these new gamepads, so we will have to wait a little longer to find out exactly how much we will have to pay to have an OLED screen on our game controller.
