ASUS updates its ExpertBook B1 line

ASUS ExpertBook B1 has long been synonymous with best practice when it comes to mobility. Whether for use in a corporate environment, for professionals or also for students who need a computer that combines high performance, resistance and portability, the truth is that the company has been able to hit the nail on the head with the design and choice of components of this family, which is now growing with the new ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502, two models that share the same design, features and benefits, but differ in screen size, 14 and 15.6 inches respectively.

The ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502 renew the catalog but remain faithful to the premises with which ASUS defined the first models of the family. Thus, and in terms of portability and resistance, we find a compact and lightweight chassis, made of plastic reinforced with an aluminum alloy that meets military standard MIL-STD-810Hwhich guarantees its resistance to shocks, falls, vibrations and extreme temperatures.

The displays of the ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502 are of type IPS with FullHD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 dots with 16:9 aspect ratio) and NanoEdge technology that reduces frames to a minimum and offers an 84% screen-to-body ratio. As usual in this type of panel, it offers both a horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 178 degrees. As for its brightness, we find a maximum brightness of 305 cd/m² in the case of the 15.6-inch model and 240 cd/m² in the case of the 14-inch model. Both screens have an anti-reflective treatment that improves visibility in bright environments. The hinge allows the screen to be opened up to 180 degrees.

In terms of performance, these laptops make a pretty safe bet by mounting 12th-generation Alder Lake Core processors. The available models range from Core i3-12100 to Core i7-12700, all of them with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. RAM can go up to 48 gigabytes DDR4-3200 and storage is based on M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs up to 2 terabytes.

In terms of connectivity, these ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502 have USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.0, RJ-45, microSD card reader, and audio jack. In the wireless section we find WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The whole set is fed with a 66 Wh battery that promises up to 13 hours of autonomy. They also include a 65-watt compact charger with ASUS USB-C Easy Charge technology.

A key aspect of mobility is that it be safe. Thus, the ASUS ExpertBook B1 integrate various security measures to protect the privacy and data of users. Among them are the fingerprint reader integrated in the touchpad (optional), the HD webcam with physical shutter, the TPM 2.0 chip that encrypts sensitive data, the MyASUS software that allows you to lock or erase data in case of theft or loss and the Windows Hello system that allows you to log in with facial recognition or fingerprint.
