Aticco Lab organizes its competition at the Smart City Expo World Congress

In the month of November, Aticco Lab organizes its pitch competition at the Smart City Expo World Congress. The event brings together the leaders of the most innovative companies, governments and organizations to move cities towards a better future. This year’s edition will be held from 1November 5 to 17 in Barcelona and will be broadcast live online.

Smart City Expo World Congress aims to be a platform to give visibility to startups that contribute solutions to the current challenges of cities. For the first time, it will have different activities to show the solutions of national and international startups, and will launch a pitch competition in the hands of AticcoLab, startup accelerator, to reward the most innovative startup of this edition that is celebrated on the 16th of November and where they will participate six finalists. To do this, they are looking for new companies that focus on the following areas:

  • Technologies that enable: How can datafication, blockchain, quantum computing, extended reality, digital twins, etc., inspire better cities?
  • energy and environment: How can cities continue to explore innovative solutions to meet their energy needs while addressing climate change?
  • Mobility: How can cities turn the crisis into an opportunity to move towards more sustainable and human-centered urban mobility systems?
  • governance: How can governments improve trust in democratic institutions while protecting democracy from multidimensional threats?
  • life and inclusion: What should cities do to strengthen their commitment to leave no one behind?
  • Infrastructure and buildings: How can city leaders improve quality of life through smart, sustainable buildings and well-integrated urban infrastructure?
  • Economy: How can we rethink economic growth strategies in the post-pandemic world?
  • Security: How can city governments respond to safety and security challenges in a way that directly improves people’s lives?

To participate, you must send the most relevant information about the project at this link before November 2. The six finalists will be able to participate in the Startup Pitch Competition that will take place on November 16, during the Smart City Expo World Congress event at the FIRA in Barcelona. The winning projects will obtain, in addition to visibility, an aid package.
