Bard will be integrated into the Google search engine

Today, the certain thing is that around Bard the doubts accumulate. We have already commented on more than one occasion that Google’s attitude in relation to its deployment is understandable, and that is that a failed step during it can ruin a good part of the trust that many users have in the company, and this can in turn have devastating effects in terms of your user fee and, therefore, your income, which depends fundamentally on the use we make of your services.

During his presentation, Bard made an error in attributing the origin of an image, which he assigned to James Webb when it had actually been taken by another telescope. This error was quickly detected and went around the world, casting doubt on the reliability of the Google chatbot even before anyone outside the company had been able to test it. And if that happened with just one bug, imagine what would happen if they started popping up in the hundreds or thousands in a public beta.

As said, Google has a lot at stake and, from this perspective, it is understandable that they are so cautious. However, the pressure imposed by Microsoft with the new Bing forces them to respond quickly with Bard. A few weeks ago the beta was finally opened to private users, although only from the United States and the United Kingdom, and a little over a week ago we also learned that the company is going to change (perhaps it has already done so) the model it uses, going from LaMDA to PaLM, which should result in a substantial improvement of the chatbot.

Bard will be integrated into the Google search engine

The next Google I/O should come with news regarding Bard and other AI integrations.

However, there are so many doubts that, to this day, we were not even clear if Bard (as such, not other AI tools) would be integrated into other services or, on the contrary, would remain as an independent service. Until now, because according to what we can read in The Wall Street Journal, Sundar Pichai has confirmed that Bard will be integrated into the Google search engine. This may seem obvious, but it was not so obvious, since the integration in the search engine is precisely the one that can pose the most risks for the company.

This explains, of course, that at the moment there are no deadlines for it. However, a month and a day separate us from the start of Google I/O 2023, at which time the company should, this time, really hit the table to improve its image in the market in terms of the artificial intelligence. It is true, yes, that they have made announcements like Bard himself and also the integration of AI in Gmail, Docs and more, but after the massive deployment carried out by both Microsoft and other companies, they either move quickly or risk starting to expire.
