Just a few months ago we showed you our review of the Medion Erazer Beast X30, a really striking and powerful gaming laptop that left a great taste in our mouths, especially due to its performance, since what you expect from a gaming laptop is nothing more than a outstanding performance in games. Now, the manufacturer has presented the evolution, an Erazer Beast X40 in which they seem to have thrown all the meat on the grill.
Medion’s Erazer Beast X40 arrives to rule them all
The German manufacturer has not wanted to leave anything to chance in what will undoubtedly be its flagship product for this year, and the technical characteristics of this Erazer Beast X40 are simply spectacular; to begin with, what stands out the most is its GeForce NVIDIA RTX 4090 dedicated laptop version, a graph with a TGP of 175W that moves without ruffling any game with everything to the maximum. In case you didn’t know, this is the first laptop to equip this graphics card.
Of course, this graphics card is complemented by an impressive 17-inch QHD + screen (2,880 x 1,440 pixels) with 240 Hz refresh rate100% sRGB color coverage and technology G-SYNC.
As the famous slogan used to say, “power without control is useless”, and Medion complements this powerful graphics card with a state-of-the-art processor, a Intel Core i9-13900HX 13th Generation (this processor has 24 cores (8 P cores and 16 E cores) and 32 process threads reaching 5.4 GHz), along with 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 4,800 MHz and a 1 TB capacity M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD.

And now a curious fact: surely you have already noticed that the graphics card has a TGP of 175W, while the processor has a TDP of 55W, which means a high consumption (in fact, its external power supply is 330 watts) and high heat generation.
And since temperature is the total enemy of laptops, Medion has installed an advanced cooling system with Liquid metal to guarantee that it works at a low temperature, but the most curious thing is that you can install a system of liquid refrigeration external to cool both the processor and the graphics.
The connectivity is not left to chance either, and the manufacturer has installed an Intel AX211 network card with Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.1, plus of course an RJ-45 2.5GbE. In addition to this, the Medion Erazer Beast X40 features two USB 3.2 Gen 1, one USB 3.2 Gen 2, one port Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C), HDMI 2.1 output, and the usual connectors for audio, SD card reader and Kensington security lock (in addition to the special port to connect this liquid cooling that we just talked about).
