The Brydge ProDock is a rather curious accessory, since it allows us to turn a macbook into a desktop, in a simple, fast way and without having to enter any type of complicated additional configuration. As we can see in the cover image, the MacBook is inserted from the side, which allows the connection of the equipment with this particular dock.
For everything to work properly, our MacBook must have a Thunderbolt 4 port, since that is the connector used by the Brydge ProDock. The design is very careful, and the truth is that this accessory is much more than a simple dock, since it has a wireless charging pad compatible with MagSafe, it has a 3.5 mm jack and offers a wide range of additional connectors: three Thunderbolt 4, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, and one Gigabit Ethernet.
On the side it also includes a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C connector and an SD card readerwhich allows us to easily expand the storage capacity of the equipment that we insert in the dock.
According to the manufacturer, the Brydge ProDock works without problems with 2021 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, as well as the new 13.6-inch MacBook Air. The rest of the equipment does not work, so keep that in mind before you start buying this accessory, because if your equipment is not compatible it will not help you at all, and it is not exactly cheap.
The Brydge ProDock is priced at $400, €391.60. It is a high figure, since for 799 euros we could directly buy a Mac mini, although it may be interesting for many professional profiles. At the moment it is only available for pre-order, and the first shipments should be made from this fall, provided there are no delays. These shipments will be made in stages, that is, by date of purchase.
