Create’s Fryer Air review: Small but tough

Air fryers are all the rage, it’s a fact. And more with the fit trend that floods social networks in recent months and almost years now. Gone is cooking in the oven or in a fryer to use. The success of these fryers lies in the fact that the hot air allows you to fry without oil, obtaining an equally crispy result in a clean, healthy and smoke-free way. To follow this trend, especially for those who do not have a 40m2 kitchen, the Fryer Air from Create arrives.

The Spanish brand Create was born with a simple objective: to combine functionality and beauty. And they have been doing this since its birth in 2019. Despite being a young company, they have carved a niche for themselves in many homes, with a wide range of practical products and careful design. The Fryer Air is included in its Create flavors range, a collection of objects that revolve around cooking and, as its name suggests, flavors.

But let’s go back to the Fryer Air, which we have had the opportunity to test. It is an air fryer with a capacity of 1.5L, one of the most compact that we can find on the market. Ideal for those of us who don’t need to cook for a lot of people, and we also don’t have much space to continue accumulating appliances. Although to this, of course, we make a hole.

Fryer Air Specifications

cooking temperature 80° – 200°

Strain 220~240V AC

When we open the box we find a fairly compact device, for what we are used to seeing in air fryers, and with a more cylindrical line, according to its circular tray. It has a capacity of 1.5L, for approximately 2 servings.

On the front we find the handle of the basket, if we open it we will see the basket, with a capacity of 1.5L, in which we can cook, among many other things, about 300g of potatoes (measure that Create indicates in their website, and that in our experience is quite close to practice).

It is true that, on some occasions, the basket can be too small, but we must not forget the type of product we are testing. We cannot ask for a large capacity from such a compact appliance.

Inside we find a tray that will allow us to keep the ingredients separated from any possible fat that may have accumulated at the bottom of the basket.

Its cleaning is very simple. The exterior of the Air Fryer can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, and both the basket and tray (which is our real concern) are dishwasher safe. Hallelujah.

A detail to mention at this point is that the tray does not close as well as it should, and I have sometimes found myself having to adjust the mechanism a bit to make sure it is 100% closed. We don’t want a bit of our air to escape.

Digital screen

In the upper part we find an LCD screen where we can control the temperature (between 80 and 200º C) and the cooking time. In addition, thanks to its pause button, we can stop cooking and resume it when necessary, for example, to stir some French fries so that they brown evenly. A very important step, since due to the small size of the tray it is easy for ingredients like this to become uneven.

After several uses, we see that its simplicity translates into a very intuitive operation but that it gives the expected results. It is always appreciated a device for which you do not have to study a manual beforehand or learn to use it based on trial and error.

In addition to its obvious use as a fryer, the Fryer Air also functions as a compact oven, in which we can prepare some pastry (not very demanding) or add a touch of gratin to some foods. In fact, in the manual we find baking times for tarts or quiche.

More recipes on the web and the app

Although in the manual included with the Fryer Air (also available in online format on the Create website), there is a practical table with cooking times and temperatures, where we will find the greatest number of interesting recipes is in the app and the brand’s website . There we can, for example, filter by type of dish, diets, author, type of food, ingredients, etc. Very practical to enter the world.

However, it should be noted that in a cursory search, it is a little difficult to find recipes for the Fryer Air, since most are made for other brand devices, such as the Fryer Air Pro or the Fryer Air Smart.

Of course, you should keep in mind that, just like an oven, you will have to go through a trial period in which you can adjust times and temperatures to see which ones are ideal for each recipe.

It is a bit missing that the fryer is “smart” and includes an integrated app, in which to program each recipe in a simpler and more automated way, and less manually. I understand that we are dealing with a compact product and focused on being more affordable and, therefore, also easier to adapt to a more adjusted price.

conclusions

Create sneaks into our kitchen entering the fever of air fryers, this time in a small bottle, with the 1.5L Fryer Air. This air fryer is compact and ideal for 1 or 2 people, with the basics to know if this style of cooking suits us or not. Although I already anticipate that, in one way or another, surely yes.

Sometimes we miss more capacity and more advanced specifications, such as an integrated app, but for the price it is ideal. In addition, it has a very careful design, something that in this house we value a lot. It is available in four colors: black, white, pastel green and pastel pink.

Right now the Create Air Fryer is discounted by 25% in the official Create store and can be purchased for €44.95.
