The Dell firm has expanded its catalog of reinforced laptops with the new Latitude Rugged series, made up of two new models that have the same common goal, combine high performance and great resistance, which makes them an interesting option for work environments where conditions are especially difficult.
The new models that Dell has presented are the Latitude 5430 Rugged and Latitude 7330 Rugged Extreme. The first is designed for those users who need a resistant laptop, but at the same time do not want to have to give up, for this reason, the value offered by a lightweight model with a high degree of mobility. In its base configuration, it weighs 1.97 kilograms, a figure that makes it, in its own right, one of the lightest in its class. It is capable of withstanding drops from a height of almost 1 meter, is IP53 certified for dust and water resistance, uses Intel Core Gen11 (Tiger Lake) processors, and is Wi-Fi 6E and 5G compatible.
For its part, the Dell Latitude 7330 Rugged Extreme is a 13-inch laptop that we can consider as the smallest in its category. It is also equipped with the latest generation Intel Core processors, it is compatible with Wi-Fi 6E and 5G, it has a resistance to falls from almost two meters high and has IP65 certification resistance to dust and water.
Both computers come with a TPM 2.0 ControlVault chip, offer optional fingerprint reader, have Windows 11 pre-installed, have enhanced displays with up to 1,400 nits of brightness to facilitate their use outdoors and offer a range of up to 25 hours. The battery supports fast charging and they are hot swappable.
Both laptops are expected to be available from December 9, 2021, although their sale prices are not yet known, so we will have to wait for Dell to decide to confirm them, something that should happen in the next few weeks. Both teams are interesting options for working in harsh environments.
