Dell will upgrade the XPS 15 and 17 to Raptor Lake-H

Dell has confirmed that it will be upgrading its XPS 15 and XPS 17 ultraportables to Intel’s new Raptor Lake-H processors. The H series is characterized by offering higher level of performance than the P and U series, at the cost, yes, of having a higher consumption.

The Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 will maintain the design and quality of finishes of the previous generation. They may differ in small details, but the base of both will remain unchanged. At the specification level, which is where the most important changes will come, we will find a total of three different options at the CPU level:

  • Intel Core i5-13500H: four high-performance cores and eight high-efficiency cores.
  • Intel Core i7-13700H: six high-performance cores and eight high-efficiency cores.
  • Intel Core i9-13900H: six high-performance cores and eight high-efficiency cores (it will have higher clock rates on its two core blocks).

The 15-inch model can be configured with screens IPS and OLEDboth traditional and touch, resolution up to 3,840 x 2,400 pixels and will offer different graphic configurations that will start with an Intel Arc A370M and can be expanded to a GeForce RTX 4050 Mobile, GeForce RTX 4060 Mobile, and GeForce RTX 4070 Mobile.

The 17-inch model will offer those same display and graphics options, but can be configured with up to a GeForce RTX 4080 Mobile. Both Dell laptops will use dual-channel configured DDR5 4,800 MHz memory, PCIe Gen4 SSD drives, will have Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and will come with a Thunderbolt 4 connector.

Both will be available from March 2, although we do not know their official prices in Spain. In the United States, the Dell XPS 1 will cost $2,949 in its base configuration, and the Dell XPS 17 will be priced at $3,399. In euros they are equivalent to 2,782 and 3,206 euros, figures to which we would have to add VAT.
