Fast and Furious: Justin Lin is considering bringing Paul Walker back to the screen

Fast and Furious 9 it has finally reached overseas cinemas and, now, the director Justin Lin, who we know will still be behind the camera of the last two sequels, seems to be considering the idea of returning to the big screen the character of Paul Walker, Brian O’Conner.

Will Paul Walker return in the next Fast and Furious movies?

According to an interview with Cine POP, Lin confirmed that he explored this possibility as the final chapters of the franchise approached and how this can be realized through CGI:

“Bringing the O’Conner character back is something I think about almost every day”

Walker has often been considered the heart and soul of the franchise (along with Vin Diesel, of course), having appeared in every Fast & Furious movie since the franchise started its engines in 2001, with the exception of Tokyo Drift, until to his disappearance in the middle of Fast and Furious 7.

His death in 2013 left many fans around the world devastated and kept the seventh film in the saga afloat at the box office for months. At the time, to honor the actor and his character, director James Wan opted for a respectful salute to the character, asking Walker’s two brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker, to replace their missing brother with additional footage thanks to the their similarity.

Could Brian’s return to the franchise also mean a return to the origins of the saga, now increasingly distant from the stories of clandestine car racing?
